I was perusing the BEP website looking at production numbers and noticed that in May they began printing series 2025 $100 star notes. I've been wondering when the latest 2021 series for all denominations would give way to the next one. I would assume they print up a few runs of star notes before beginning regular production. Wonder when the new $100's will start showing up later this year and will it later extend to the smaller denominations?
I just put 2 and 2 together and figured out these must be the new notes with the President's signature on them instead of the Treasurer's. That change was announced back in March so I guess these are the first ones off the press with the new combination.
yep, I haven't seen an actual bill for circulation yet, but pictures of a specimen have been going around, and that's indeed what's on them.
The info on the BEP website only goes up to May but assuming they've been printing the non-star notes in June and now into July, I would expect to start seeing the new series at any time. I don't know how long it takes newly printed notes to make their way through the system down to the local banks.
they're pretty unreliable about getting the reports out, as you've doubtless noticed in the past. they've been better for most of this year, I think, so I'm hopeful June's report will be out sometime in the next month. I've seen bills first hit the street anywhere from a month to a year after production, but it seems to me like it's usually more like 3-6 months. doesn't seem to matter whether it's a new series or just continued production of a current series. since $10s will be a redesign, they should at least announce a formal release date for those (once they've actually been produced) as they've done with past redesigns.

I looked at the length of time between the end of the report month and the release of the report (printed in the upper right of the report) for the first 5 months of this year and it's averaged about 3 weeks. So if we're waiting for the June report, it should be coming out any day if they keep their average.
It for sure takes awhile to get things moving down the pipe but am sure excited to see them when they come out
