Silver Is On A Tear Today

I sold another $300 plus of silver coins today in the antique shop. All of it was above spot but nice.

If you don’t mind, are the buyers young, old, male, female, etc? I’m wondering what kind of people you are seeing?

 

That's outstanding job IMRICH................... but I had to look up Octogenarian, and found out I am a septuagenarian maybe misspelled.

 

I have no idea. I sell coins as part of my antique business. I rent a space in a mall with around 150 other dealers but I do not work in the mall. I sell a lot of coins, rocks, minerals and fossils along with a nice line of general antiques.

 

Holding in the low seventies.

 

How's your traffic and that area and the mall compared to pre-Covid ?

 

Your biz is still on my list to visit, just haven't gotten to Pennsylvania yet.
I was in SE Ohio/Kentucky the other weekend doing many parts of the TransOhio Trail and other sight seeing places.

 

Better than ever. I sell an average of 5 items per day. In a usual month I have about 4-5 days without a sale but I manage to see over 150 items every month so definitely no complaints.

 

One day you’ll make it. I’m patient. Still doing my spring cleaning. I’m late doing it this year due to other issues and problems but it’s coming along. About 35% more to go.

 

The 2 malls near me are both struggling....20% vacancy rate...one in bankruptcy, sold for about 1/3rd price of 10 years ago. Other had Simon Property behind them so some deep-pockets to tide them over.

 

The one I’m in is up 20% over last year. My sales are up higher than that and last year was a really good year. By the time April is over I’ll be very close to what I did by the end of June last year.

 

I just checked my sales and it’s only April 3rd and I’ve already sold 27 items. I’m surprised as that’s 9 per day once averaged. I know I can’t maintain that. But the sales are good. My rent for the month is already paid back to me. I’m happy.
