By the way, I noticed that SD Bullion is NOT a registered dealer for the Canadian Mint. http://www.mint.ca/store/mint/customer-service/bullion-dna-dealer-locator-10900014 I asked SD Bullion about this and they said that is correct, that they buy from wholesalers. I am no longer interested in buying RCM products from SD Bullion for this reason. On the RCM deal page it says "The Bullion DNA anti-counterfeiting technology is only available through a registered Bullion DNA dealer. Get a listing of current Bullion DNA dealers here." Also it makes me think - why is the wholesaler looking to offload these particular products? Are they scratched, etc.? Red flag.

My current thinking is to go with Provident for both gold and silver. They seem to be the lowest price for both products I am looking at.

For silver I am thinking about an RCM product (Provident is a registered dealer).
For gold I am looking at a PAMP.

Provident is my online dealer of choice. I have had nothing but good experiences with them. Best prices on average. I have not seen a good special on Rounds or ASE's from them in awhile though. Those are my two favorite Items. I have used JM Bullion and GovMint and have had no problems with them either, I just like Provident's prices.

I wouldn't send a second one unless I had canceled the first one. Theoretically yes you should get one back if you send two active checks but it could be a headache or cause confusion, that and I wouldn't want two of the same checks floating around

That's just what wholesalers do. They're a middle distribution man.

When I'm ready to buy I rarely fin everything I want at one place. Provident and JMB are my go to dealers. My last order was my first order at Apmex due to a free oz with $100 purchase sale they had. That was the first time I got new bullion below spot on avg. To bad it was only 11 oz total.

I also have sent provident and JMB checks on the same day on 2 occasions. They are both in Dallas so I wanted to see who would process faster. The orders arrived within 24 hrs of each other both times.

I just hate having to pay a stop payment fee to my bank [emoji30] why can't they use electronic checks like other coin dealers!! Lol

I guess PayPal is not an option with bullion dealers.

Good to hear the check cleared.

It's an option but you get a small discount for using checks or wire transfers. That way the dealer doesn't pay credit card processing fees.

Most of mine come from mcm on eBay. If you watch them daily occasionally I get them for less than a buck over spot and always free shipping.

    mcm or apex......both very reliable

They are reliable but I'll only buy from APMEX if I'm buying over $100. Otherwise the $10 shipping cost is usually a deal breaker.

Doesn't anyone on here use SilverTowne? I've sold them lots of stuff over the years and have also bought things from them at shows. Some locals I was helping out had over 1,000 1-oz gold pieces they wanted to sell. I called ST, and they sent two off-duty cops from Winchester, Indiana to my little town in Mississippi. They bought the coins with a wire transfer to the people's bank. Gold at the time was close to $1,800 an ounce so the total came to roughly $1.87 million! ST paid me $5K as a finder's fee, and my sister-in-law told me I should have charged more. Anyway, I've always found ST easy to deal with and as honest as most coin dealers are.

I've used silvertowne a few times and I can't complain. If you're looking for rounds versus coins then I can see using silvertowne more often.

I've bought from JM Bullion, Provident, Silver.com and Gainesville. I Alway compare their prices, specials etc. I have no problem with any of them. Thinking about trading some 10oz silver bars for ASE's or Maples. As someone said, easier to sell.

I thought his response was fine, why did you ask for an opinion and then shoot him or her down only to look like a jerk? So they were off topic a bit, he wasn't that far off and I'll be sure not to read anymore of your messages!

APMEX usually has an eBay deal going at any given time. You can use PayPal without the usual markup. I don't know about the others.
