I just wanted to know your guys opinion on these two coins. Eisenhower Dollar 1976 Lincoln Cent 1968-S
I don't know about pennies but the Eisenhower looks mint or at least borderline to me (open to be corrected as a non-expert at grading).* Bare minimum the penny is a high grade (as far as details). *There appears to be wear at the high points of the Eisenhower obverse. I am guessing AU58.
First, I posted this in the wrong forum. Can a moderator move it to the US Coins forum, please? Also, I did not submit the coin to a TPG, it's from The Bradford Exchange. It came in that holder. I'm asking if the coin reflects there opinion of the grade. It has a lot of little marks on the obverse. I got it for $4 at the pawn shop. The reverse of the penny is definitely not BU, but the obverse is a beauty I think. Thanks for your response!
Here's response. All are circulated. Notice the marks, especially on the dollar. Hits from other coins leave those wavy marks. The cent is definitely not BU. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
The 1st coin the reverse clearly shows it is not BU. While the obverse is nicer the coin is not MS and will net grade AU. The 2nd coin is also not BU. Depending on how the scratches are graded, as details or not, it could be MS details , but it is probably AU as well. BU means brilliant uncirculated and you are looking at MS 65 66 etc. These coins are around AU 50. Which are not special enough to encapsulate or grade. The obverse of the penny is nice if not cleaned but the reverse brings the net grade down.
I jumped way too quick here because after reviewing high-grade samples of the same coin on eBay, I see this Eisenhower has some wear.
