Here is a link to a cool story of a local agency that recovered $115,000 worth of gold and silver taken in a burglary. Plenty of pics showing the stash on a table. http://komonews.com/news/local/poli...h-of-stolen-gold-and-silver-from-everett-home
"Discovered the stash of stolen gold and silver coins and bars, including gold German Krugerrands". I am happy the owner will get their metals back but this quote from them made me laugh.
Quote - "and discovered the stash of stolen gold and silver coins and bars, including gold German Krugerrands, with an estimated value of $110,000" closed quote German Krugerrands?
My guess would be the main suspects may not have been at the residence when they executed the search warrant. Probably was a flop house where the property had been stashed.
People still think it's smart to store their metals at home. Foolish! But you think you've got to have them on hand when the apocalypse comes, right? Can't store them in a safe deposit box or a third party vault, right? The gah-ment might raid your assets, right? During a financial collapse you won't have access to them, right? Psh! You worry so much about the long term, unrealistic scenario that you ignore the immediate realities and risk of theft and damage in your own home.
There was an update to this story on tonight's news. The police stated they had obtained information regarding the location of the stolen property which they decided to act on quickly. The decision was made to attempt to recover the property before it was gone in the wind versus trying to determine the actual suspect first. It sounds like things began moving quickly for them as they obtained a search warrant in a couple of hours and hit the house and found the property. They stated they believe they will be able to file charges in the future once the investigation is complete.
