I'm trying to be careful and not sidetrack or trash this thread. I'll create a new thread to respect those in this thread.
You missed those times recently, too, where he told the mods what they should and shouldn't allow and then insinuated filing a lawsuit against CT...
I just noticed your avitar. I just got me a new pony 2 days ago. Might have to sell these carr pieces for some mods.

What all this pontification is about is a "fantasy overstrike." It uses the originally proposed reverse for the Peace. It is a marvelous way to honor the Americans, such as my grandfather, who marched off with General Pershing 100 years ago this year. That's enough for me.
I wasent until page 7 of that thread that I realized it was 32 pages long!! I had a good read but can't read that much lol
The high relief is hard enough to strike as it is. Add to that the fact that I'm over-striking existing Peace Dollars and it becomes doubly difficult. And the reverse relief height is twice that of the original "high relief" 1921 Peace Dollars. The obverse die contours were modeled after a 1921 "high relief" Peace Dollar coin. The central hair detail is the last thing to strike up completely. The slightly matte texture in the obverse center tends to hide the detail somewhat. The "bulk-handled" version which has some light abrasions across the higher areas tens to show the central hair detail differently because of the contrast between the highest points (shiny) and the lower areas (satin). The two-oz silver round version has exactly the same central obverse contours as the over-strike. But it strikes better due to the thicker and softer planchets:
I've never "reported" a post on this or any other forum. But I do feel that the moderators here have gone a little too far in taking sides. Overall, this is definitely the most hostile of the various coin forums I visit. The insinuation of filing a lawsuit was in regards to those threatening to file one against me and a countersuit would be my reaction if that occurred. I have no intention of ever filing one except as a defensive move. As they say, there is no such thing as "bad press", and I prefer to debate the issues here rather than in court.
Dan with the amount of money you make you should have somebody doing that for you, to save face. The owner of a company should never do what you do. But of course that's a standard business model, you do whatever you want to do
Carr is only here to sell his product. Do you ever see him on this site for anything but that. You won't. He does not care about the hobby. It's all about sales.
Dan, you do have your fans and avid collectors here. The folks who voice contrary opinions have, obviously, never held one of your coins (yes, I am going to call them coins-- overstrikes of non-circulating alternative mintage) in hand. I criticized your work about 3 years ago, and said that I would reserve judgement until I owned one in hand. After buying one of your issues, I offered a public apology, as I was wrong in criticizing your work. As they say, "converts are often the most zealous supporters," and that is definitely true in my case. The critics who denigrate your work have never held one of your creations in hand. Instead, they would rather criticize them in the most immature way possible. Hey, I have absolutely no interest in collecting Lincoln Cents-- they hold no appeal to me. However, I don't trash the collectors or the coins that they collect. That should be the attitude towards your work-- don't like it; don't buy it. I was man enough to admit I was wrong years ago. Perhaps some other vicarious collectors should do the same.
Sorry but you're assuming. I have held a Carr over strike in hand and my feelings on them remain the same. You can make all the assumptions you'd like about us who have so called 'negative' views regarding them. I also happen to hold some views on those who alter photos from well known dealer websites and then pass those coins off as being their 'new purchases' but I don't go posting about it on the forums as perhaps others live vicariously via other ways.
Again, except for me I suppose. And how exactly are my critiques "immature?" 1. I own a few of the reeded edge hard times 1 oz tokens. He signed them. I like them and the Broken Sword story. 2. I have held the position all along that he should initial or sign all his work, especially the overstrikes. 3. I stated my opinion that the latest 13 mintage Walking Liberty's overstruck on 2016 ASE's diminished his name and work, since almost no thought or effort was put into them. He simply took an old set of dies and struck them over an ASE. That's my opinion.
