Yeah, that's more than 10% under for the big silver bars. Eagles still carry a premium, so their buy price is closer to spot, but their spread is still more than 10% even on those. And, again, I don't fault them for this. I'm sure they're taking a risk buying at these prices. Still no buy prices anywhere for 90%, though. All their dime listings show "out of stock", and most of their smaller-quantity listings show "pre-order". The pre-order boilerplate says "as soon as they get them from the Mint."
Spot nearly touching 76 today. Looks like there is really something to those investment houses that are short scrambling to cover and those going long buying actual metal, not paper.
Heh. Most of their silver-coin listings are flagged "out of stock" or "pre-order". I guess they've got a certain amount of stuff in-flight inbound -- but at some point they're going to have to raise both their buy and sell prices, or they'll have nothing to sell.
Silver sure blew through the $60’s price range. It’s now at $75.00 plus. It’s up over $4.00 an ounce the day after Christmas.
There is a video on this forum about this coming Monday triggering some "witching hour" and then in a couple of months going parabolic. if you can find it, it's worth a watch. I think most of us are paralyzed in awe, neither buying or selling. I have a contact who is a middle man (woman) who brokers between sellers and private buyers. I may have to contact her to be ready if this happens. It would be crazy to not take some big profits off the table.
Again, there have been videos making claims like this for most of the fifteen years I've been here. And with the advent of AI video generation, they're getting more dramatic and polished - but not any more reliable. Of course, a broken clock is right twice a day, and at some point there will be a steep surge followed by a fall from a cliff. Maybe that fall will happen later today. Maybe it'll happen sometime next year, when today's sharp rise is just a little blip compared to subsequent gains.
My wife had bought these in June as a birthday gift for me (August) but lost track of them until a few weeks ago. She put them into my Christmas stocking and I was ecstatic to see silver. Then she told me about when she bought them, which made me even happier!
I heard someone on Bloomberg today saying they heard the conductors on the train they were on talking about the price of silver(!) Reminds me of the stories about cab drivers & shoeshine guys in 1929 giving out stock tips.....we know how that turned out.....
I have a legit question, would someone on the forum buy at these prices it the product was listed in the classified section? Asking for a friend No really, I have a cousin in Kentucky that is looking to sell some silver. I keep telling him to get it together and send it to me
Who cares about world tensions,. The world can aways convert to a glow-art economy if things really go south.
Been thinking the same thing, But of course buyer would have to pay shipping and ins, If I sold at those prices here.
I understand. That was mostly speculation. But there have been recent world events that never happened like this in the past.......like banks being forced to cover margin calls on their short positions on futures plays, a big deficit of industry demands versus actual supply that didn't exist years ago, etc. I think it's exciting!
I just checked and it’s up almost $6.00 today. It was $77.40 an ounce. Talk about flying. It can keep going up like this.
