Correct, but PM prices actually seem IMMUNE to anything resembling a fundamental. There are too many players for whom PMs are closely tied to emotion and especially fear for those markets to EVER behave rationally. If equities are a casino, PMs are an options on futures of casino outcomes market.
with current statements of a new tax law and all that I'm debating putting a few dollars in a few funds and see what happens. but I don't think that bodes well for PMs.
My attitude to silver is simple, spend your money on ancient coins, drachma, denarii, whatever. You will have history in your hands whether it goes up or down in these fickle markets.
The eyes watching the manipulation a little too closely perhaps? It's temporary window dressing at best. When the walls finally and truly come down, the few pennies it's rising now will be inconsequential comparatively.
Had a whole response that got fudged here so I'll skip it except to say that what one sees coming is everything. 2007-2008 was a babies game. We papered over the problem with guess what, more debt. It can't keep rising out of control. It simply can't (from a mathematical standpoint) and it will not. Those holding large chunks of empty paper will be left holding the bag too this next time around. We won't be able to paper our way out of it. It'll break badly but the good news is that a system of value can be created henceforth. 20 trillion and counting? If people think it can continue then, hey, why not 500 trillion? How about 5000 trillion? Point is that somewhere along the way, it ceases to exist. PM's offer SOMETHING. Empty paper offers only wiping material.
Totally agree. I assume you are 100% PMs. If you have any toilet paper you can send it all to me. I'll take every bit whether paper or coinage.
In a true collapse scenario that wiping material might be worth more than all the gold and silver you can store as at least it'll serve a function.
Very good point Sir. I'm 100% anti 'whatever the bleep you call our corrupted, polluted and manipulated' system. It would almost be worth not having toilet paper to witness this system collapsing.
Hi my name is Gloria. I've been searching for info on a coin I found and saw cointalk on the web. I have a coin and was wondering if it's worth anything.

Could always move to Canada, Spain, Italy, Germany, China or Russia. Or Buy your own island and create your own nation and currency system. Though there is currently a Sell-Off on US treasury debt ==> https://www.bloomberg.com/news/arti...creditors-dump-treasuries-in-warning-to-trump
One of those countries may indeed be in play in the not too distant future. When this one crashes though, I only wish I could figure out where the creepy corporate types will go so I can go somewhere else. If only there were a way to permanently insulate those creepy corporate types from decent and honest citizens. Oh well, I can dream. Interesting article. I wonder how long before the Trump effect alienates the entirety of the rest of the world from what's left of this country. Probably we'll end up like his vacant casinos with lots of nothing to hold on to. Oh well. We can all just file collective bankruptcy and stick it to the creditors too, just like he's shown all of us. PS. Canada sounds nice right about now. Do they have corporate raiders there too? If so, less I'm hoping.
Communism seems to sound better and better too. Certainly better than this mess seems to be turning out.
Eliminate most of Western Europe. Safe havens for the wealthy. Ditto most tropical islands. I know of one place for you. Pripyat, Ukraine, near the Belarus border. No corporate types at all there. Real estate real cheap. Sure, they're fixer-uppers, but hey...
