Exciting video! I had to skip through it. It was good. I want my own coin too. LOL. All I can afford now is a Candy bar, I think. Thanks for a sharing. I feel somewhat better now.
Wow! everything is a Millon dollars, thanks for the video. educational for me!! its really neat I would like to hold the gold bar 400 ounces. 27.4 ponds THANKS MASTER
Truly awesome! The gold bar at 27.4 pounds produces 438.4 one oz. gold coins, if it used every part of the bar. My guess is they punch about 410 planchets out of each bar. It was worth $1.6 million when the video was made, but gold is hovering at $4,032.00 right now…$1,767,628.80 currently….and rising…mind boggling. Really enjoyed the video. Big thanks and kudos to @masterswimmer for sharing this…Spark
No, that would only work if each coin was a standard (avoirdupois) ounce. They're troy ounces. Out of a 400-troy-ounce bar, you'd get 400 one-troy-ounce coins max - fewer, of course, if you have webbing or other stuff left over from making planchets.
You’re right. It is troy oz. Serves me right for using an AI generated answer. edit to add: Makes it 399.5833 troy ounces. Revised guess is approx. 380 planchets with the webbing recycled. At $4032.00 = $1,611;119.86/unprocessed bar
Still looks like you're converting back from pounds. They started out with a 400-ozt good delivery bar. 400 troy ounces works out to... 400 troy ounces. (As I understand it, GDBs are supposed to be around 400 ounces, but they're stamped with their precise weight. As AI understands it, I'm sure anything goes.)
