Here are my first acquisitions of 2017. I didn't buy them outright, I traded for them. I think I did well on the trade. :) Details of the trade are in the Post Your Under $50.00 Purchase Thread. https://www.cointalk.com/threads/post-your-under-50-00-purchase.283435/page-21

1955 Proof Set in the original box. The Lincoln Cent and the Jefferson Nickel are what really drew my eye to this set.

1999 Susan B. Anthony Dollar, my first one that I have acquired other than getting them in change, but I liked the color.

1955 Washington Quarter. I'm pretty sure this was from a Mint Set. I loved the Fruity Pebbles reverse colors.

And finally this 1968-S Proof Kennedy Half Dollar with RPM.

Nice. I particularly like the 55 nickel (looks like some light toning and maybe a hint of cameo?), and the SBA. It's also super cool that you have the box for the 55 set.

The reverse of the 1955 Roosevelt Dime is the only coin that has any frost in the set.

Ah, too bad. Still nice toning on the nickel. :)

I like them all but the die crack on the Susan B. really drew me in. :)

Yeah, I didn't see that until I got home. Pleasant surprise.

Where is the best place to get proof sets like this? Did you trade at a coin show?

Usually you can find them at show's. But this one happened to be in my local dealers inventory. I'm pretty sure it wasn't there very long, as I had not seen it before. I'm usually in his shop every few days or so, just to see what's new.

LOL. When I got it home, I thought it was a hair or something at first. Then I got the glass out and looked. I love the crack as it goes from the base of her bust through the star straight out to the rim.

Just got this one today. Paid less than $30.00. I know many folks don't like ICG, but I bought the coin on it's appearance. What I liked about this one were the strong horn and fully split tail. Overall, it's a pretty nice strike, in my opinion. I'm happy for the price.
