    • Hello everyone! It's called "Tarnished Tuesday!". Won't you post yours as well??
I know, I know. Some of you probably hate this term in Numismatics but there is a difference between that, and "toning" as explained below>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
      Let's see how I did...... :)
      • Tarnishing
        • Unattractive
        • Uneven
        • Fingerprints
        • Blemishes
        • “Milk Spots”
      • Toning
        • Attractive, “Eye Appeal”
        • Nice Colors (blue, purple, rainbow)
      • Enjoy your week all! ;)

This one is a case of now you see it, now you don't.
I bought this Didius denarius at a convention and then found it had been sold at auction the month before with this stain.
The second image is how I bought it.

I agree that there is a point where "toned" becomes too toned or as you say "tarnished". This one is close.

On the other hand, here's one that simply has a spot of tarnish. I really like the coin, but that spot in front of Liberty drives me nuts.

I sold this recently. I probably would have kept it if it looked better but who wants a black silver coin? I was glad I was able to sell it honestly. 1934 mauritius 1 rupee02.jpg

This is the result of using an anti-tarnishing agent. Obviously it didn’t work.

I've posted this one before, but it surely counts:

Good thing that’s an ‘81-S and not a
    ‘31-S.

I was pretty well in shock already by the time I got to that one. Weird, weird mixed lot from eBay.
