I’ll try to do the drawing in a couple of hours, after I catch up on my chores here at work. Then it will also be time to open the CTF (CoinTalk Friends) Giveaway #2.

    Stay tuned! :)

It is now time for the drawing!

    Our lucky number was... 21!

    upload_2025-2-1_2-37-14.png

    And Post #21 was by... @Vytis !

Coingratulations, @Vytis! You have won your pick of prizes! :)

And there is a lot more to choose from than there was when I launched this giveaway.

Now, if you still want the Antoninus Pius denarius, that is yours.

However, if you opt to change your mind, you could alternately choose from amongst the giveaway goodies I bought at the FUN show this month. But you will have to read through that entire long thread to see what those items were, since as of this typing I have not yet uploaded or added any of them to the Giveaway Gallery. Just look for the posts where I described a show purchase as being earmarked for the giveaways. Any one of those items you may have.

(But you may not have the gold coins I bought for my collection, or some of the $50,000 coins they let me hold.) ;)

If it's ancient Roman coins you like, note that I also bought silver denarii of Lucilla and Commodus at the show, and either of those could be your prize if you wanted. (See Post #51 in the show report.) In other ancients, the second of the two slabbed Widow's Mites I bought at the show is also available. (See Post #126 in the show report.)

If you decide you want a US coin, there is a slabbed MS Peace dollar and a proof Franklin half amongst the new purchases which are not yet listed in the Giveaway Gallery as of this typing (not to mention several other new purchases that were mentioned in the show report).

If you like silver bullion, I have ten different one-ounce coins and rounds which were previously mentioned in this thread but are not yet individually listed in the Giveaway Gallery. You could have any one of those.

Just let me know your pleasure. :)

I shall message you shortly to get your address. Please remember to post here in the public contest thread (not in the private message chain) when you receive your prize, so we can all see that you got your item.

    Numismatic regards,

    ~Robertson ("Rob") Shinnick ("LordM")

Hm. Wish I could say that, but I’m outside on my phone, typing this during the 358th smoke break of my shift. ;)

I get away with that, because I’m the boss. If only by default. You see, I’m the sole employee on duty until the breakfast ladies come in at 6:00 AM.

I singlehandedly operate an 85-room boutique hotel from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM every weeknight. Which makes me the boss, the front desk agent, the phone operator, the janitor, etc. You get the picture.

As long as all the guests are in their beds asleep and there are no drunks or fire alarms, it’s all good. I do have a Security rover who stops by once or twice. Once my chores are done, the rest of the night is mine.

Maybe you'll get free lunch or dinner or is breakfast?

I do get free dinner. The Security rover brings it around. Usually I'll eat my ramen and take the dinner they give me home, for my elderly father-in-law (it saves my wife the hassle of fixing him lunch every day). But when it's Taco Tuesday, I do eat the meal they bring me.

i LOVE being a solo flier. I got as close to that as I could last night with the job i was on because of how few people we had.

Amen to that, and a hallelujah too. When you work alone, it’s easy to get along with your coworkers!

LOL! I love talking to them too, they almost always seem to know the right thing to do. It's when you start arguing with them when things get a little iffy!

Haven't heard from @Vytis yet. Last seen Thursday, so he probably still doesn't know he's won. Hopefully that'll be a pleasant surprise upon his return. :)

Had to give the long thread you mentioned a search through. So much interesting stuff at that show for sure. The Roman bracelet from Time Machine (that was a name I haven't heard in quite a while) looked very tempting, but I think I'll stick with my initial pick for the Antoninus Pius denarius. Thanks again for the giveaway!
