Mine of course is of a often forgotten founding father. My brother actually proposed this has a silver bullion coin to a private mint, the reverse is of Patrick Henry's "give me liberty or give me death" speech.
Mine is a simple collage of 4 middle date large cents I currently own. I have had a few of the years and who knows when I might change it again.
Mine is my first 1800's proof coin. Bought it as a pf 64 cameo graded by Anacs. NGC gave it pf 66 cameo.
This photo was taken by a good friend while we were staying at their ranch in Namibia. I use is on most of the forums I visit and it reminds me of the other hobby that consumes more thought, time, and $$ than coins.
i agree, that is one magnificient Animal and so stately looking...looks like he's thinking...WHAT chew lookin' at?!
Mine is from a MS-63 Morgan Silver Dollar in my collection and the red, white, and blue over it is the French flag in support after the terrorist attacks in Paris.
Very simple. My father was badly wounded while serving in Korea. When he passed away many years later, he still carried the shrapnel in his body. My avatar is my way of showing respect and honor to my Dad.
Assuming I'm still wearing my default "Holey Hat Avatar" and haven't temporarily switched to something else when you read this, here's the backstory and more pictures regarding that.
It certainly used to act like a beacon to online colleagues when I wore the hat on the bourse floor at big national shows. I get tired of looking at myself sometimes (even the younger, somewhat better-looking 2004 version of me), and change avatars for a little while. (My alternate one is an antique Scottish Clan Robertson badge). But people always clamor for me to bring the old one back, so I always do.
I've used you as an example more than once when newer collectors ask what value there is in holed coins.
