I've already suggested something like this, but I was mocked for it as you can see. I hope you don't get the same treatment.
Books, I see your quotes, but where is my discussion of any of those areas that I quote rules on being prohibited. You won't find them. There are none. Several of those quotes you gave are the wording that is in the rules themselves. I can see why you don't want to report those as 'discussing '. I could give the various internet definition of the word 'discussion' , but I am sure you know it. Happy Halloween. Jim
I thought the idea was worthy of some support, and some reflection on the merits and possible drawbacks. If we want people to come into numismatics we should not slam the door in their faces. This may just be the next way to interact. Ten years from now, we may be saying "videos before coins" and "post your newest vids". Or even, "post a VR for that", so we can examine a coin for ourselves in virtual reality.
No disrespect, but I don't like all of them, particularly the chicken and turkey ones. I love the Italian ones, though, particularly when they're loaded up with the moozzarel and capicol...
But are we really slamming the door in this poor boy's face, or is he slamming it on himself? That's the bigger question here.
Oooh, be still my jealous taste buds! There's what I'd like to be tying into during the big game tonight. And the more mushrooms, the merrier. We're going to be settling for chicken wings on the grill and chips. And Spaten Octoberfest, I never serve cheap beer.
Me too... my team got knocked off in the previous round... this is probably the only time EVER I've rooted for the team which beat mine in that year's playoffs. Best of luck to yours as well, Ron.
Maybe silversearcher should just post his videos to one of his own threads, or the roll searching thread (==> https://www.cointalk.com/threads/roll-searchers-post-your-results.10176/) instead of creating a new thread on each roll set he goes through. It does seem a bit spammy with all the new posts, but it's not my forum. It has spawned some funny videos .. i nearly made one myself (was going to roll up some halves in a 20 dollar bill, put a few old state halfs and go bananas over the find) but someone else beat me to a funny video.
That's great, Jim. Well, other than the fact it wasn't about "discussion". Kind of like how it wasn't about "discussion" when you decided to remove a LINK and talk down those simply asking for explanation, but you already know this (hence the deflection). Let's be honest here, shall we? Could it be that the only real problem with the thread in question was that you didn't like the subject? Fair enough, and to some extent I would agree, but you also set a precedent that you later refused to apply to yourself, and that, sir, is what this is about. There's a reason some have been questioning your approach, and contrary to what has been claimed, it's not your "strictness" but how you oh so selectively apply it. Spin however you see fit, but the proof of your double standard is right there, sir, and anyone who has been on the wrong side of it likely sees this for what it is.
