Wasn't there something else about that bar? An extra A? Western and Atlantic Railroad 1972 Madison Mint.
I have one someplace. There was an error on the train when first released. I'll try to dig up the history. Z
Everyone CLAIMS they have the error, but they don't. The error was the first issued bars used the wrong train. The General has two sets of drive wheels. This is the error bar. Only one set of drive wheels. Now I need to find mine. Z
I'll clean up my terminology for @dwhiz . The correct General is a 4-4-8. The error General is a 4-2-4. Easy to distinguish them apart. Back when this mistake hit the numismatic news, folks were paying upwards of $50 to get one. That was when silver was under $10 an ounce. I should have sold mine then. Z
@ZoidMeister The General is a 4-4-0 Steam Locomotive it's on display at The Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History 2829 Cherokee St, Kennesaw, GA, 30144 US https://www.american-rails.com/general.html
