Would you grade this 1893 Morgan slider as an MS or AU?

First observe pic shows some rub or frost break on the cheek, but other than that not seeing any signs of wear. Considering the price jump from au to ms, if submitted to PCGS where do you think she'll grade at?

Au. 58. Doesn’t look harshly cleaned but probably dipped once or twice

If it's a slider it can not MS.

That is true what Dynoking said. That word gets abused at times to some sellers. If wear is shown under magnification it is an AUat most.

Looks like there is wear on hair over the ear. It's darker than the surrounding areas.

    Agree.

Though slipping into a low MS holder wouldn't be impossible.

I see a tiny amount of wear so that makes it an AU. If it’s called a MS coin, then I’d call it a slider.

While nice looking, the coin has been cleaned, below and to the right of the eagle's left wing.

    OP:
Buy the 1893 NGC AU Details piece for $37.00+, and save the money. You will be getting the same quality as the piece you are asking about.

    YW.

I think you are being extremely generous and courteous with limiting the locations of the cleaning/enhancement/chemical doctoring. Of course, the seller is posting photos taken of a coin inside an encapsulation with refection hiding the real condition of this piece, but....you are still being very nice, and someone should mention that you are.

Remember there is no such grade as AU-MS. It is one or the other, not both, nothing in between. The actual grade will not be higher than the lowest grade advertised.

It’s a solid A/U, I have many in this grade
Would call it a 58 comparing what I got.

I can’t believe you’re admitting to having silver of any kind let alone enough Morgans to make a statement like that.

No, no, it is just "similar". Anyway, the Grading will be the "same".

    Ask mpcusa.....
