A fellow enthusiast working the change struck silver today - Silver found in my change | Coin Talk Well done @BronzeAge ! Post in this thread the next time you work a fun find out of circulation!!
Ok, my little poker pot (where gather my loose change) was too full to place the lid on prompting me to sort. I ran through the quarters, dimes, and nickels. No DDOs or DDRs for either, about $100 combined. I did find a DDR in the nickel search but haven’t looked it up yet. The best find so far is a 2009 dime. But I have a small baggy of cents to search. I’ll post photos of the gun finds later.
Well, maybe $110 mixed change collected over the last few months. I was able to snag a few higher state cents for my Lincoln Roll collection, but nothing too much of interest. 2014 Jefferson is a minor DDR, but nickel accumulation was considerably lighter than in years past. I found that my quarter and dime production was significantly higher. Anyway, the 4 best representative coins.
Check out this pocket find by @BALD SPARTAN - https://www.cointalk.com/threads/error.406932/ Nice find! Post your other pocket finds here.
My latest Biloxi casino visit graced me a 1944-S penny from a coin change machine. Also, a 2010 quarter from Wyoming.
I love catching LWCs in change. I received some older patina cents in change the other day and was sure I caught some. But LMCs were the trend that day. Glad to see that wasn’t your luck.
This popped up in change - sometimes odd to think how old some coins in circulation are. What was happening at the time…perhaps what it was spent on.
I almost never spend cash. I decided to buy a coffee at McDonald’s with cash got two dimes as change and why yes that’s the young head of old Queen Liz
Meow found a 1984 s proof in the loose change bin by the front door of the Cat Hoard. Meow comes home and empties this Cats pockets in a bin at the end of every day. Meow just happened to glance this proof in the bin as it was so obvious. Meow does not know where it was received as change as it may have lay there for a few weeks. Also, Meow did some very limited quarter CRH and found a BU 1982 d. That was not expected. As one does not find coins that old as BU/AU in CRH besides bicentennial ones.
Nice! It’s always fun picking up an impaired proof. My first impaired proof was a quarter received in change getting lunch about 10 years ago. Like Meow, it was unmistakably different.
From one of our newer members @More5FrancCoins - https://www.cointalk.com/threads/1945-wheat-penny-no-mint-mark.407700/ Always fun to find an LWC in change!
One that was in hiding for most of its 58 years - 1965 Quarter | Coin Talk Fun find @VistaCruiser69 !
I got these back in change at the grocery store a few weeks ago. They have no folds and are crisp notes and have that " gas pump" last digit. Oh yeah, they are sequential.
I've found older cents (copper) , but this is the oldest piece of silver I've ever found in change...
I went through about $100 of accumulated change. Not a lot this round although I did catch 3 2009 dimes which is rather unusual. I also found a couple nice survivor LMCs and minor 2004 LMC DDR.
