Restructuring is probably a more accurate term. Briggs was there before and after the switch

But a lawyer can get their internal records and probably determine what month and year the coin was graded.

assuming the old company just didn't throw away all the records during the transition.

And all of those appliance buyers are going to find out what Sears warranties are worth if that company ever files for bankruptcy.

Sears puts their label on other makers appliances.
So a general warranty may be worthless.
But a safety warranty aspect may get covered. But consult your lawyer ...

I have no idea why SEGS will not guarantee teh grades of that particular age.
Maybe Briggs didn't own the company and had no control over who graded what or what their specific qualifications were?
Maybe they discovered that a specific grader was being biased in the grading opinions offered.
Maybe SEGS got popped for a huge guarantee by an obviously negligent grader?

Nobody really knows. And for the record, both PCGS AND NGC have modified teir guarantee's to address the volatility of copper where neither guarantee copper grades prior to a certain date.

However, SEGS "should" update their online guarantee to include the fact that they will not guarantee SEGS grades that occurred prior to a specific date.

You're sure colorful, but I don't believe my Masochistic tendencies include having "be told to go sit in the corner for a while". That's probably enough said.

OP- this is a write up that I did regarding the almost exact same scenario you are faced with. The difference is I didn't try to get the full book price of the coin, I simply wanted the money I had invested back out of the coin.

Mr. Briggs was extremely polite and we were able to come to an agreement of a fair price for my refund.

Not sure it would help after all of this, but a little bit of politeness goes a long way. Additionally, I don't think it is fair to any company (not just SEGS) to pay you more money than what you paid for the coin.. No disrespect, just my opinion.

    Hope everything works out!

I get sick of this place sometimes. color me SICK :vomit:.

Since I have become a member there has been several times I questioned a posted comment and asked VERY NICELY for more info or evidence to back up the statement. On two of these occasions the OP has been caught in a "story" :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: Ok, they were down right lying!:(

I understand NOW that no poster needs to reply to a question and we are all free to lie. @imrich, this does not pertain to you but the story you posted about your submission to a TPGS is extremely interesting. As I wrote above, I am a very curious sort and SINCERELY wish you had decided to write more about your experience (and what happens to your next submission also). That's because, IMO, it would be very useful/interesting for some of us who like to keep our eyes on the TPGS. :)

No worry here. Sears lost my future business with the dishwasher from hell.

I suggest that instead of seemingly pouting because you didn't receive answers to possibly prejudicial disclosure, that before making bold statements and asking further questions pertaining to legal parameters, you should investigate/learn the facets of legal prejudice and discovery.

In my opinion, this thread has been a good example of possible legal ramifications incurred by inappropriate public disclosure.

Hummm, it appears I came to the wrong conclusion as this instance makes another time!:smuggrin:

Here is a possible inappropriate public disclosure: Based on my personal experience (that's my "story") NGC is the best TPGS. :jawdrop: Sue me.

OK, :bucktooth: let's all tell lawyer jokes now. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

    Hi CLV1,
Thanks for the information. I actually stumbled onto your case as well as other SEGS cases(fake coin graded, loss of the item sent in for grading, etc.). So far your case is the only one that I could find that SEGS stepped up on and did the right thing. I have no issue with SEGS buying the coin from me for what I paid for it. I have called and left a couple of messages and sent an email but no response back yet.
