Beautiful set of coins ancientnut! I do not collect Ancient Greek, but your set is very inspiring! Well done.
Thank you one and all for the pleasing comments. 4to2: The Gela is a recent acquisition. See this thread for a little more detail: https://www.cointalk.com/threads/one-magna-graecia-one-not.279151/ AncientJoe: I'll try to get another photo uploaded with the flip sides
Nico: I will send you a PM with information on the Tarentums. I will be interested to see what additional information you can give me.
It is indeed! At the end of that thread, I mentioned that it is 30 mm at its greatest width. I don't think I've ever seen a larger Gela tetradrachm.
Wow, ancientnut => that's an awesome collection (congrats) Ummm well, we certainly aren't related, for I have zero discipline (I'm kinda like the ancient coin collector that runs with scissors!!)

Thanks so much...... absolutely beautiful. I don't often get coin envy, but they are something else. I don't know whether coins like this are out of my budget..... I'm checking. If they aren't, then I may be saving up for one ..... or 2. Thanks again.
