This is a carry over contest to honor our friend and member. I have closed the cherry pickin contest see the last post of mine.....until Fall 23. At which time we will give it another try.

Rules are simple.... for Albert post" your best coin in your collection"....1 entry per person ....winner (s) will be pull by a random generator, on Tax Day April 17 2023.

There are 3 prizes a 1950 D unc. Jefferson nickel, an 1938 D Buffalo nickel unc. And the mystery prize...
It may be big....it maybe a zonk! But on the 17th the generator will pull 3 numbers if your post is drawn you have the choice of the 3 prizes 1st number pulled gets 1st choice of the 3 prizes and so on.....

Entry post: so we can keep count...then your entry...photo and text thanks.

I will image the prizes and post soon....well the mystery prize will be in disguise until the unvailing.

Let's make this fun and honor a long time member... thank you for your support.

Albert this 1812 Bust half was my 1st coin in my collection . She's definitely not a looker.... but sort of a hooker :) as she made me take hook ,line, and sinker...and given me the passion that I have today for this hobby.
She also gave a chance to meet some very special friends... which you,as many others
    here make up that list.
Thank you for being my friend . 20220905_114050.jpg 20220905_114035.jpg

That was a terrible year as I recall (War of 1812). Cool year to have though. Imagine if some soldier carried it around? :woot:

ENTRY POST - This coin was given to my father by Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. It is made of gold and about the size of a dime. It is a mule of two other common coins and made expressly for Emperor Selassie to present to guests and dignitaries. I found it after Dad passed in the bottom of a box of world coins that he had long forgotten. To me, the value is incalculable. IMG_3212.jpg IMG_3213.jpg

I have many coins that I absolutely cherish, but when I am looking at the collection as a whole, I am always drawn back to this one:

This is awkward. I am humbled by your contest and comments. I didn't/don't want my health issues to be a focal point, which is why my family is totally unaware of it. Nothing they, or anyone else can do, so why burden them. I'm not even sure why I divulged it here, but it might of been due to my medication. LOL That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Thanks to all of you for being here and part of my journey.

Definitely one of, if not the best coin I own.
Probably worth 3000-5000 realistically today no problem.

Of course eBay offerings like these usually don't sell. Toooooo much!

It might not be my favorite but probably the most expensive.
