If so, how much? The Mint sold these for $1,250. Yes, I know this is the sellers first listing and he is from Bulgaria, but you have to start sometime and from somewhere. At least it's graded...lol http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNITED-STAT...561306?hash=item2363f0809a:g:WrUAAOSwzgRWvMgj
Tell him to send you a picture of the full obverse of the slab. If he won't, forget him and his coin.
Too many red flags for me: seller in Bulgaria, moderately high dollar item, 0 feedback, no grade/cert # showing.
On Feb. 14 same exact photo listing with same coin he sold for $1,785... Probably a scoundrel trying to make quick fraud and run with the money.
I just bid on it for fun, looks like I've been outbid. So what is NGC's position if the coin is fake in a fake NGC holder?
They probably would tell you not to bid on it. If you did, they would tell you to take it up with eBay. Your the one who got scammed, not them. Your the one who would need to file a complaint and take legal action. There is no easy way to get out of the problem once your in. When it's outside of the United States, a lot of your legal options are not enforceable; for no other reason but lack of foreign involvement or interest.
Negative Ghostrider, no way, no way, no way! I have sold over 3000 items on ebay and have 100% rating I worked hard for. I have dealt with shady buyers and sellers many times and would never give this the time of day. Like others said, too many red flags. I'm sure you can find one elsewhere at a better price and comfort level.
NO! Don't bid on this! This seller is in Bulgaria and has NO track record of sales. Even if he had several thousand sales I would not bid on this because there is no legal recourse for selling fakes from that part of the world. I think of Bulgaria dealers as west China and I don't buy anything from China because of the large numbers of fake coins and fake slabs that come out of there. Spend your money with an American dealer!
I asked him some questions an received no answers... but he has six bidders so far.. agree NO WAY JOSE
