Well, commercial and investment bankers (since we got rid of Glass-Steagall) basically ARE the market, so I'm not sure why any of that would be unusual. I assume you're aware that the Fed actively stepping in to the BOND markets is an everyday thing, right? It's called the "Fed Open Market Committee" and it's been in the bond markets for many, many decades, not just since 2008. Equities are pretty much allowed to do what they will, unless you're China. In the U.S., "everybody" knows the economy is not the stock market and the stock market is not the economy, or at least they SHOULD.
Wow dude, I had never run across Alex Jones before today, and I'm cursing you for bringing him to my attention. I already had enough nuts to worry about. Thanks a lot. I'm sensing a few too many blows to the head when he was a high school lineman, before we knew as much as we do now about brain damage in football.
What's going on in bullion makes perfect sense. I say that because it doesn't make any sense, much like the last three years. Last week I was thrilled to sell a March $17 call. In less than five days, It has blown well past what I had expected. Next question is, can it hold? GDX
Seems like the price of silver will need to break and sustain above the October 2015 highs before we should get too excited.
Part of the reason for the jump in gold and silver prices, beyond instability in stock markets, may be due to the fact that large overseas investors are now being charged by the banks to park their excess cash because of negative interest rates. That money could be finding its way into PMs.
why would I want it to rise? to sell it for funny munny? I like turning paper into silver and I like it when I get more silver. When silver is up, the economy is bad. this shouldn't need to be explained.
I got one too. I'm sorry, but after three years of getting pummeled into the dirt in my bullion portfolio, those wounds left scars. I won't go chasing the market this go around. If the bottom is in and we begin an upward trend, I am going to start dumping it and converting it to land. But we have a ways to go before that starts.
I always liked the land idea. You can rent it out while waiting for it's return to grow, especially farm land.
You can also mine it for gold and silver. And when you're done, you can even put it back where you found it and use it for something else. Land is long and stable, especially if you have time to get in front of progress and sit on it for a while as they catch up.
My opinions are me. You can block me if you wish but, I'll say anything I wish. This site is all about opinions and learning. If you dislike what I say then explain why. Perhaps I can learn from you.
