Lower AU or even XF. Plenty of contact on the higher points.

IMG_20151218_222040.jpg This Ike has a lot of the charachteris0of thd ikes I have sitting in mint cello. What looks like breaks in luster are actually..."sploches"....I guess in the toning from the cello. I'm not convinced it's MS but I'm not convinced it's AU either. I more want to know what's going on whith his forehead

Cascade, that Eisenhower looks beautiful but the scratches make it look like the grading of EF. But it is a very nice coin and if it was me i would love that coin in my collection!

Ikes are known for hits digs and scratches, even in mint state 60-64. They are big heavy coins and they were not treated well from their early life as a planchet to being tossed around in 1K$ bags. I'm wondering if the area on his forehead isn't a planchet issue. That would be one of the highest points on the coin, so deepest area on the die, so least amount of squeeze preasure, which means it's possible for planchet issues to remain visible after minting....then again, I may be over thinking it.

Very nice coin and should grade at 64, maybe 64+ ..

All 71 BS are weak struck coins ........

So you guys are seeking what I'm seeing. This coin is super clean to the point I think 65 or above is quite possible but then there's the weak points and forehead area which look like a grease strikethrough or a soft strike with a planchet issue showing. I'm thinking the latter because the obverse was the hammer die so grease is much less likely unless it was on the planchet when it was fed into the press I'd think.

I have a few 71d & 72p talon heads that I'm sending to anacs using their current 7 for $75 deal. Think I'll through this guy in there too :)

I don't think it will hit a BU grade .
I don't see any original luster on this coin ..

Could just be the images too ...

I was thinking it may be the images too. Once the coffee kicks in I'll get some better ones

I'm with Stach on this one...I don't see it making even ms63.

Clean but weak strike as others noted. EF grade I would think.
For comparison, here is my ms65. Apologies for poor pictures. I'm hoping for a better camera soon! image.jpg image.jpg image.jpg

Ya maybe you guys are right. I may sit it out or I might just see what anacs says for only $10 since I'm sending on the talonheads anyway

A good looking coin but the weakness on of letters of "In God We Trust" that are near the rim would bring it down to EF.
