Just wondering what your favorite coin deigns are. My top 3 are.... 1.Walking Liberty 2.Mercury dime 3.Peace Dollar
I have 4. I know, you asked for three but the last two are tied for third. LOL 1. Type 1 Standing Liberty Quarter 2. Walking Liberty Half Dollar 3. Mercury Dime 3. Type 1 Buffalo Nickel
Nice list. I would probably replace the Stone Mt with the Buffalo nickel, but very similar to yours. I do not even collect US coins any more but will buy a nice Oregon Trail at times just to own another one.
1. Walking Liberty (half, not ASE - the reverse lacks something) 2. Buffalo Nickel 3. For "story" reasons, not the design - the California Pacific International Exposition (San Diego) commem half.
I can't easily rank these, so here are my top three in no particular order: 1) Wheat Cent 2) Capped Bust, especially the eagle on the reverse 3) I guess I lied about being able to pick my top three. There's too many other really good designs for me to pick just one!
Thanks! I have a personal connection to the Stone Mountain. Stonewall Jackson is my great-great uncle. Happy holidays! Chris
1. US Small Capped Bust Quarter (1831-1838) 2. Hungary KM#487 Millennium Commemorative Korona (1896) 3. Hungary KM#448 Gold Ducat (1868-1869)
Then our relatives might have shared the same dirt. My great grandfather was in the Civil War serving in an Iowa regiment. Yeah, different sides, but still.
I'd bet that if they were standing on opposite banks of a river at Christmastime, they probably would have saluted one another. Chris
I can list my number one. Barber half dollars. Anything after that is a toss up. There are so many great designs out there, world and domestic that I really couldn't rank the rest.
