Air Tites

So I've watched a few YT videos from silver/gold investors, and about of the half of the channels had their bullion (ASE, Maples, 90%ers) in air tites, air tight red cap tubes, and coin tubes for war nickels, 80% Canadian & 90%ers. While the other half and their Eagles & Maples in flips (2 per flip) and then the "junk silver" in small to medium baggies.

So my discussion here is an opinion on storing and preserving your bullion whether its silver, gold, platinum, palladium or junk silver coins. Should you store/preserve any and all bullion in air tites & tubes, or should you just not spend the extra $ on the supplies and just store them in flips & baggies?

I dump all my 90% in a box , hasn't hurt them and they range from G to MS . Though I do put new ASE and other bullion coins in pvc free flips . Why spend extra money on bullion ?

I don't think I would spend the money on Air-Tites for bullion except the gold. My ASEs are in a Dansco and 90% in PVC free coin tubes.

I figured gold, platinum, palladium. So even brand new 2015 ASE or Kooks you guys wouldn't put them in 40mm air tites?

I just leave them in non PVC flips , so no . They're not worth the $ to put them in . Mine have stayed in great condition . But if you want to make sure they're pristine air tites are good . I like a little toning on coins , though my ASEs haven't changed where I can notice it .

I used to buy them (40 mm direct fit for ASEs)... however, I now prefer the ASEs back in their Mint issued tubes. Takes up less space.

Buy em in mint tubes, store em in mint tubes. Don't want to add the $/coin for air tites.....

Completely agree +1....If you are only buying on the bullion value no sense adding cost for air tites.....They'll sell just fine on ebay when the time comes, without being in air tites.

I currently buy air tites & just recently started using the air tite tubes. Made it easier and more compact to store them from the previous method I was using. I do this both for the silver & gold bullion I have. I know the coins are just bullion but if this can help keep them in "pristine" shape longer than normal then I'm not going to quibble on the additional cost. Plus there are plenty of vendors that will sell the air-tites in bulk and so you can get a pretty good price.

air tites will not keep the milk spots off them and they are way worst than toning in my opnion
