Is there an ideal number of silver ounces one should strive for? For instance, say DDP may state "I need a monster box to live a certain duration of time". I for one feel the more brass I hold the longer I may endure. With the direction of PM's in decline since
    say $48 [IMG]
    or $1850 [IMG]

    Much appreciated for any input.

Since I've never heard of a magic number, I'm chiming in so that I'm also watching this thread. Silver is one of the ways I choose to invest in and I keep enough on hand that I think I'll do alright should anything drastic happen to the economy. I will say that it would be best to buy silver over time instead of in bulk. Like stocks, the value of silver can fluctuate so by purchasing over time you can offset the fluctuations.

PM bugs and pundits are still trying to squeeze longevity out of the bull market, and the turn of a New Year spurs plenty of optimism in their reporting and savvy headlines that they can count on the fears of the population to support it, them and their fantasy for another year.

Won't matter how much physical ounces you have if you don't have enough colloidal silver to offset disease from a zombie pandemic should it come to that rather than the cracked crystal balls stating it will be the economy to protect yourselves from. Broken clocks will all chime true that the economy is collapsing and crashing eventually.

There are other ways to live one's life than to measure it solely by the weight of precious metals supporting it. Don't let fear direct nor distract you from a happy life. Happy New Year.

You don't really need any silver. There are plenty of other ways to prepare for the impending doom.

If it even happens, just enough to get by until the old or new government issues their replacement money. They will then value silver and gold to meet their so called dollar. Not the other way around.

Heck, if things get that bad I don't want anything slowing me down while I race to the local armory.

Just enough that you can carry comfortably. Anything more leaves you a sitting duck for the evil zombies as you won't be able to out maneuver them carrying so much weight.........

Silver won't save you from the impending Zorlok invasion. They're immune to the stuff, and we'll all be their primary nutrients source. It's rhodium that kills them, so if you haven't stocked up, well, might as well just resign yourself to being a smoothie now. (yeah, ok, I'm also a fiction writer, in case you were wondering)

The skies the limit. IMO you can't go wrong buying any amount of Gold,Silver,Platinum, or Palladium. I'm 14 and my original goal was to have 100oz of silver, $100 face U.S. Junk, and 2 oz of gold. I reached all 3 goals in the middle of 2014, I however decided to buy an 1885cc. I recently sold .85 oz of gold to buy one. Am currently looking for a nice one.

Mr. Green, I must agree. If the Z-APO(economic collapse) is among us, anything more you can carry comfortably may place one at a disadvantage. I hope I will be carrying more brass than PM. If this is our impending future would you suggest "junk or PM" in a matter of dire str8s?

I advise bottled water, antibiotics and sanitary bandages, related first aid gear and perhaps a large fire and water proof shed full of toilet paper. When the S hits the fan, you're gonna need to wipe a lot of mess up.
