About how many dollars face value of 90% dimes/quarters/halves do you think i could get for $700.00 at the current price? is it usually 13x face or 14x face?

EDIT: if i'm at an LCS, paying in cash.

At this very moment, the silver value is $12.33 per $1 face. So I'd say as close to that as possible. The last batch I bought at $12 when melt was $11.91. At today's silver price, I would think 14x too high unless there were some nice coins in there that might go for a premium individually.

I think you'll have to pay 14x face in today's silver market. Figure it from there. I got some at 13.5x face, but that was when silver was at $16 an ounce.

ok... so i should be able to get around $50 face for $700 or about $70 face for $1K, correct? i have $1K to invest, i was thinking about doing $700 in silver and $300 in gold, but i think i might do all silver if i can get it for 14x face or less.

See what you can get, but I like to get "junk silver" in the oldest form I can get. I have gotten Barbers and even an occasional seated liberty or two. You never know what is going to be in with a lot. I pluck them out and put them in folders with the price marked on them. I don't mind Canadian either, but I want to get a better deal because they are only 80% silver.
