the mint already planing for the 30th anniversary american eagle series for 2016. i think the mint should think or include the matt proof and satin finish uncirculated. so we can have six to seven different type of american eagle silver dollar.
the list are: proof, reverse proof, matt proof, enhanced unc, burnished unc, satin finish unc. and unc use for bullion eagle. also the mint mark should be special. like mint mark P for proof. burnish unc with D mint mark, enhanced unc with S mint mark etc. give your comment and thanks.

p.s. also produce a special half ounce american eagle silver coin.

I know its just me that thinks this, but.....they make too many kinds already. Why not have a 28th anniversary set (with a special PCGS/NGC label, signed by the great neice of the guy who designed the original coin)?

I see a hair going through the sun's rays but nothing else. Perfection? Never will happen, even in real and most cases. Stop sweating the small stuff my friend. The coin is gorgeous.....

Perhaps you're right. To anchors point, if they do 7 coins, I'd be game. I wonder how big the packaging would be though. :)

Big enough to hold 7 slabs would be my guess.

Waiting for ASE ultra high relief. And maybe while they are at it- an Ultra High Relief Reverse Proof.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the silver eagle program, the mint will issue a 30 coin set. It includes coins from the Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, and West Point mints. Each mint will strike coins in uncirculated, enhanced uncirulated, satin, proof, and reverse proof finishes. To celebrate its storied history, the set will also include one coin from each former mint including New Orleans, Carson City, Charlotte, Dahlonega, and Manilla. As no set is really complete without them, it will also include a bullion coin, a Daniel Carr restrike, a Chinese ASE in an NGC holder, a JFK on a silver eagle planchet, and a partridge in a pear tree. The set is available to the public on 15 January 2016. A limited amount has been authorized by Congress to be given to HSN in 2015.

A set for 30 coin. That is good also. No one will buy 100 or 50'set. One set for each of us. Amen.
2016 also have a 3/4 ounce gold coin for walking liberty half 100th anniversary. I wish mint will also issue a silver walking liberty half dollar dated 1916 - 2016 as well.

A number of ideas for 2016 are in the works, as confirmed by someone on this forum who spoke with US Mint reps at the Whitman Baltimore show this year.

"Two commemorative coins are being pushed by the mint that would be produced outside the regular commemorative program.....can you guess what two they are????? And they are really pushing gold versions for these as well!!!! I was soooooo pumped up when I heard about that. Those coins are going to look gorgeous.....ok I can't wait... they want to to a Mercury dime and Walking lib commemorative coins in both silver and gold!!!! I think the mint is really starting to listen to the collector base."

Designs we could assume are in the works for 2016 with 100th anniversary designs are: WLH, SLQ and Mercury coins. A three piece set would be sweet, but I'm curious what with the WLH having been used for some 28 years on the ASE how the half would be handled. Perhaps all three designs issued with dual dates 1916-2016 in 0.999 silver compositions to offset them from the originals, but held to the same size specifications...

Rather than fool around with another "special" ASE set and exploit another round number anniversary date, they ought to issue a new design from the 30th year going forward for our bullion dollar coins.

I'm sure the GOP would be all over it... Why not give that crowd what they've been whining for as well, and depict Reagan astride the beast. They'd probably hand them out at the door of the convention!
