Maybe more people are thinking that silver has found its bottom and it's time to buy. That, and a lot of people are bad at math.

    Yup. Not too surprising.

There are a couple of (ex-) sellers on eBay who have negative total feedback, courtesy of yours truly. I'm perfectly willing to bid on a good deal from a zero-feedback seller. Buyer Protection has my back every time, and one or two of them have actually come through. The zero feedback weeds out some buyers who would otherwise be competing with me.

A Whitman album with 75 silver Washingtons just popped up at $200 + $6.40 shipping. Local dealers are clamoring to buy at 12x. There are harder ways to score a quick 20 bucks.

    Here is a few notes..

    1. Many sellers now require immediate payment for buy it nows, compared to the old "commit to buy" option. This is eBay's constant fixation to make itself more like amazon.

This adds time to the checkout process, which means if someone has a faster computer, and a faster internet connection, they can beat you to the checkout.

    2. I'm starting to think, due to servers and how the internet works, it's possible for one to see listings earlier than other people.

That being said, I've spent a total of 9 hours F5'ing the buy it now pages, and hardly any thing good has turned up (besides the coin that got got negged on).

    1. Yes, it's a race when you get "immediate payment required". And that's a race I often lose, because I almost always want to shift my payment method from "bank transfer" to "credit card", and PayPal won't let you set that as the default (because it costs them more money). My home Internet connection is mediocre, and my work connection is terrible, which is probably just as well.

    2. It's absolutely possible for one user to see a listing earlier than another user sees it. Sometimes you're in the group that sees it first, and sometimes you aren't.

That being said, I've gone much longer than 9 hours between bargains. I've seen a few in the last few days, but the dry period before that had lasted months.

Wow, that was productive. I mean, like I enjoy coins and all, but eBay just isn't worth wasting 9 hours of my life I will never get back.
