For my 14-yr old daughter? She likes kittens, and i asked that question before here. But I've expanded my search to world coins. I like the size of the U.S. 3-cent silver, but nice examples would be out of my price range. Can anyone recommend any other nice world coins? Modern preferred due to price, but if the coins are in nice shape and $5-$10 each, I'd consider older coins. Coins from France, Switzerland, Poland, Ukraine would be on the list, but any country would do. Thanks.
My wife asked me about French coins to use in earrings. I showed her what I had and she liked some 10 Franc coins from around 1954. They were the right size, bronze-looking and had roosters. Rob
Then don't show her the 20Fr. Gold Angel coin, Wonderful for gifts on Holidays and weddings, anniversaries .
Have you considered a pendant? some ideas here http://www.differencecoin.com/catalog/themes/cats.html?page=1 I have bought from them in the past and the quality was excellent. Another idea for a small coin for earrings but well out of your price range. Had these custom made for my wife in 1988. Not counting the cost of the coins, the jeweler charged me $368 to mount them in white gold. Need I say my wife collects Koalas. And yes, she still wears them on special occasions. Gets tons of compliments.
You certainly found yourself a keeper. Any woman wanting coins, even if just part of her jewelry, is a keeper. Especially when she knows her husband collects coins.
I am pretty sure I have a set of either half-dime or 3CS earrings already...somewhere. Want me to look for them? Side Note: Found them. They are earrings, but are love tokens with the inscriptions KG and HM. Hmm...kinda specific.
Um, getting off-topic here, guys... Rob already bought his earrings. *I'm* the one looking for a small, dainty pair of earrings for my teen-aged daughter ;-)
Sorry, Ben. It was late and I posted too quickly. Didn't mean to offend. My post was directed at the other folks. I did consider the earrings. Thank you for your idea!
