The bee was reimaged and I believe it looks even better.

The toning is nice, yes, but it's all recent in my estimation. In 2200 years there's only one color silver will tarnish to, and that's black. The coin was cleaned at some point and picked up the attractive colors, probably in the last century. Likely it lived in an envelope made of sulfurous paper, or a wooden drawer, or some such other thing that has the potential to tone silver nicely.

That being said, I like pretty toning as much as the next guy, but I don't place any premium on it whatsoever. I have a denarius of S. Severus that has some nice color which I didn't really capture in this image - it sparkles with iridescent golds and blues, but this is also a product of recent storage. The virtue of Zohar's drachm and my denarius is not in their color, but in their condition...

JA- its clear that it had been cleaned and retoned over time. While I cant say that the toning was the driver for the purchase, it helped, as a blast white coin is not my thing. The real appeal here for me is the sharp detail and centering.

A bee coin has been on my want list for some time. However, I can never find one that I like that is also one I can afford.

You got yourself another killer coin Mr. Zohar. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Ahahaha, thanks Z444 => I've collected coins my entire life, but I've only collected ancients for a mere 4 years (287 coins later) ...

Huh, I guess that's basically one-to-two sweet coins per week (hmmm?)

Yea but I saw a stretch of like two months of one every other day. Seems like a conservative estimate steve...

We all need a "fix" I guess? How many actually stick to a firm budget?
