Storing silver bullion coins as a collection

I know this has been discussed but closest I could find was a discussion of dansco albums to store silver bullion coins.
I've started collecting silver bullion one ounce coins for their aesthetics. I note that dansco has albums sized for specific coins, eagles, libertads, etc. Since I'm looking at collecting all the various wildlife coins (birds of prey, australia, etc), can anyone post a link to a binder that would be able to hold various sized coins?
Was wondering if a binder exists using the clear plastic flips. I'm not a coin collector really so need all the help i can get.
    Thanks!

You could go with a standard binder with the 4x5 plastic sheets in them to hold 2x2 flips. The only concern is I don't think a holder would be able to hold a lot of heavy coins, because they would be too heavy and sag. The best way around this is to put the heavy coins on the left two columns, or inside, closest to the rings and the lighter ones in the right or outer two columns. I did some google searching and here's what I found:

The point that Seattlite makes about weight is very apt. They may only be 1oz each, but they sure mount up quick. I class myself as a collector of bullion coins and decided that a case would be better than a binder through weight - and I think it also looks nicer.

I went for a Lighthouse box with square cases - it adds to the cost but if you want a cheap hobby, go take a walk!

The biggest problem I have is storing the coins. With boxes you need to get a safe that is large enough to hold the entire boxes as I really would have hated putting each coin in and out individually.

Oh, and those two holes in my Eagle tray need filling!

You can order generic pages by size from Dansco. That way you just buy an empty Dansco binder, and buy the pages individually...you can get one page which is 40mm, one at 39mm, one at 38mm, etc and just put it together yourself.

    Hi Chris,

I collect and sell 1 oz bullion too.
I started with the NUMIS classic album with slipcase (each sheet hold 12 coins without capsule and the album holds 5 sheets = 60 coins). But with the years they can get oxyded (milk spot you can do nothing!)
As my collection grow, I now put back the coins in the original capsules (kooks, pandas, ...) and I put them on caps-tubes in my safe. And for the ones that comes with no capsule I put them in Quadrums and the Quadrums in the PRESIDIO storage box (100 quadrums per box).
So it depends on how many coins you want to collect when its less than 300 it was easy for me to put the albums in my living room. But after you start thinking :)

I use a Pelican® water tight case for my silver. They are cheap & highly effective at keeping moisture out. Toss a couple of desiccant packs in for good measure. Waterproof means moisture stays out, but also gets trapped inside. I change the packs every so often to keep them from becoming saturated. Works like a charm.

    Howdy folks,

Depends upon the silver, but for my crowns and various int'l bullion coins like pandas, brits, Phillies, etc., I use Danso with extra pages large enough to hold some of these fat rascals. Silver eagles, I have in tubes in a green monster box but also in a Danso for them. I have Dansco for my Libertads and Maple Leafs.

    Do what works for you.

    peace,

I rely on Dansco albums exclusively, and customize them myself. Started by finding out the mm size of the 1oz coins I was gonna collect. For example, Eagles and Kooks need 40.6mm holes, so one can either order 41mm pages or simply relabel Silver Eagle pages. Then, put the sets together in any (relabeled) album. Pandas and rounds work in 40mm pages. For odd sized stuff, I sometimes use a Dremel drill with the sandpaper bit to open up the hole a little bit. For the large sized stuff, like 2 or 3 ounce sizes, I use plastic Dansco pocket pages which fit in a regular Album. But yeah, one can (and should) IMO, store their bullion collection in the same format as their numi collection, unless of course, they're stacking in tubes and monster boxes or whatnot. But, few things can beat the visual appeal of bookshelves all with the same types of albums all lined up next to one another.
