The Acadia price has just increased substantially on ebay. The last two sales have averaged over $650. The Hawaii pucks are being hoarded. ebay has not shown a sold listing since 31-July-2014 ($859). Meanwhile, the market values of the El Yungue ($295) and Denali ($325) are rising. Collectors seem to be hoarding the Chaco Culture with no ebay sold listings since 27-July-2014 ($225). I'm thinking that its market value will soon rise based on its low mintage. It is a good time to love hockey pucks.

If you look, the OGP Fort McHenry is driving up also. It seems recent sales are in the mid $200's and the listings are in the $270 range. The graded 69's are cheap in comparison...

Of course....right after I posted this I went to check ebay to see any new sold listings and a McHenry auctioned for $171ish...haha

As an aside, it seems that trying to auction stuff like this while general PM interest is waning is a waste of time and often a losing proposition...the BIN listings sell for reasonable money, so why take the risk of auctioning?

Not so sure it’s a matter of hoarding, meaning individuals holding multiple examples of the same coin. With these low mintages, they could well be settling into collections and off the market.

I'm thinking that the lower prices coupled with the higher mintages are attracting more folks to the collector pucks. After they get the 2014 pucks, they get that typical urge to buy the earlier pucks. Market pressure coupled with lower mintages are pushing up the value of some of the earlier pucks.

I resemble that remark. :) I bought a couple of Grand Canyon pucks tonight for right about $200 each. I have a subscription now, but when the pucks first came out they really didn't do anything for me. Once the prices started dropping (with silver) and the subscription discount came into play, I decided to take the plunge. Now I'm hooked.

And dreading what it's going to cost me to get to the volcanoes... :wideyed:

Just pretend you have one. That is what I do. The collection of coins I pretend to own is amazing.

I found the box and COA for Hawaii - just the box and paperwork, no coin - listed on eBay for $125! How ridiculous is that?

So, with the end of the US Mint’s 10% subscription discount, are we going to see lower sales of the Pucks? And, aren’t the Pucks, as well as other products due for a regular price reduction, due to lower pm’s? Seems like some of the silver products were offered the 10% discount, rather than lower their regular price.

Where did you see something about them ending the 10% discount? It looks alive and well on the US Mint site.

The end of the subscription is certainly a kick in the ass to us puck guys. I would expect the Everglades puck to take a deep dive in sales volume. I bet the mint won't count on it and it will be on sale for a few years to come.

Well the Sand Dunes will be my only purchase on subscription, then, I guess. I hope enough of us pull our subscriptions to make them re-think.

I just sent the following through their feedback system:

"Just found the info about the new website and how you hid the information about dropping the 10% discount offered for some subscription items. Would have thought you would send an email to subscribers personally about that. I guess the Sand Dunes will be by last subscription item, then, as the discount was the ONLY value I saw in subscribing. I think you'll find many others feel the same since so many items are overpriced. That is, unless you instead bring down the regular price to more properly reflect market value (really, no price adjustments with gold and silver both in freefall?)."

(sorry for the mildly poor grammar as I didn't proofread before hitting send)

I didn't subscribe for the discount (although it was a nice bonus). I subscribed so I could get certain items every year without forgetting. One year I thought I forgot and paid extra for a couple of items from a 3rd party, only to find out later that I had already purchased the item in question and had just misplaced it for a while. :rage: Losing the 10% discount won't make me cancel my subscription for that reason.

Doesn't mean it's not disappointing nonetheless.

Yep, with the recent dip in pm's, if they don't lower the "Regular" price to less than the discounted subscription price, I'll buy less. I was ordering at least two of each, so I'll go to one of each, just to keep my collection up to date.

I will continue to order two... simply because I have two kids. :)

Sand Dunes shipped today. Anyone else?

So, now that the discount is gone and pm's are in the tank, we should see a regular price of around $119.95 for the P-Pucks. If not, I'll switch over to the possibly lower mintage bullion version.
