just bought this 1997 Isle of Man, 1 Crown, proof cat coin I have wanted for about 10 years now. The main reason I wanted it is because of the cat skeleton on it. call me weird... it's ok. I think it has a cool factor with the cat skeleton on it. plus we have 4 real cats. go figure. I asked the guy if I could buy it separately from the 4 coin set and he finally said yes. so happy right now. wow I have spent my coin money for the next 3-4 months with this coin and coins from gbroke and Josh's coins and 3 coins off Ebay..
I saw the photos of the Straits Settlements coins, they are nice but have you seen an 1894 50 cent Straits coin? I have one that was in a large amount of coins I bought and it was in them. I asked Heritage for some info on it and they want to do a write up on it in CoinWorld. It's actually the first one I have ever seen in any denomination.
Coin World has very little about world coins. The only mentions are in the monthly price updates . I been a subscriber for over 29 +years . There focus is more centered to US coins. I hate to say this but Coin World has become more like a sales page for Tpg Stacks Ha etc .but there is still good article if you get pass all ads.
I am not that familiar with that,I assume, magazine. The guy that got in touch with me was Jeff Starck.
I have a few to many coins but how do you stop buying and start selling? I like to just look at a Brilliant Unc silver coin! I have hundreds of Silver Washington Quarters,Walking Lib Halves,Franklins, all the dimes, half dimes,Silver Dollars,Half Crowns, etc.
I just got this 1934 new zealand shilling. i now have a set from 1934 in silver, 3 pence, 6 pence, shilling, florin and half crown.
I am not really a collector of proofs, but decided to get the complete first Ibero Americana Encuentro de dos mundos set. Here is a favourite from Peru,
Got this today for around $10.00. i had the 50 leva, now i got the 100. I'm looking for the rest of the type set also.
check out this crazy guy, the "augenroller".. here's the story behind it if interested, short and cool read... http://www.cachecoins.org/stadtcoblenz.htm

Excuse the description on the 1894 Straits Settlements coin it is not a Queen Elizabeth but a Queen ZVictoria!! But of course I am sure you already knew that but that's just how easy it is to make a mistake!!
