Despite Revenue Growth and Record Productivity, USPostal Service Loses $5 Billion in 2013 Here is an article FROM THEIR OWN WEBSITE. You would think they would want to keep it a secret... http://about.usps.com/news/national-releases/2013/pr13_087.htm
Are y'all buying the regular or the proof on these? The regular "limited edition" seem to be like the old Franklin Mint products... they're limited to whatever they can produce in the open production period. The proofs (at least as far as I have read so far) do seem to have a hard cap on the number produced. I'm just wondering if the finish is really better on them, say like the proof ASE versus the regular coin...
I just ordered 5. I originally ordered a roll of the Walking Libertys, but sold 15 of them on Ebay. Now I am just getting 5 of each series to put together complete sets. Drath, I am just getting the "regular" version of each. I won't pay the "ASE Proof" price of the proof versions. Not for me.
I wish I purchased a roll of the Walkers. I just purchased two and flipped one of them recently. I feel the same way about the proofs. I am going to stay away from them.
I've been buying the ASE proofs, so the idea of the Zombucks proofs is more along the lines of my usual behavior. I didn't buy them when they first came out, but believe it or not I showed the picture to my wife a few nights ago and she loved them. "Go ahead and get them if you want," she said. I started researching sold prices on eBay just to see what they're going for. I'm not sure I'll actually do it, but it is a fun series.
I guess I'm not saying I don't like them, I definitely do. I just don't place the same value as I would a proof ASE. If thats what you like though, I would go for it and post pics when they arrive.
Wow, I must have gotten the first 5 minted! These are definitely proof-like. I may have to buy 5 more later on when dies wear down a little, these don't look right next to the other Zombucks. LOL.
They've been good to me lately. Most stuff I order comes in pretty quick. The one exception was my last ebay purchase, but that wasn't USPS' fault. I blame the seller for shipping coins via Media Mail. I left positive feedback, but commented "You shouldn't ship coins via media mail." I also dinged him on shipping expense feedback since he charged me to ship using a service he wasn't eligible to use. If the USPS inspected the parcel en route, it would have arrived with postage due.
I'm buying the proofs. I know I may not be purchasing these for investing but 2 of my favorite things is coin collecting and watching the walking dead. Plus the packaging of the proof is very nice. The pictures below do not really show just how good these proofs look but you will get an idea
