Where can I get airtight holders for my silver coins?

I thought long and hard about whether to buy silver bars or silver coins... I picked coins just because they look much better than bars. Well now that I ordered some from Provident Metals and I want to preserve their look with airtight cases, could anyone give me a link too an eBay or amazon listing and possibly a name for them because I looked on eBay but since I don't know the real name for them I can't find any listings. Also I have seen you can put this foam padding around the coins so that they don't rattle, please give me an eBay or amazon listing for them and the name for them.

I would prefer if the ebay/amazon listing had both the case and the foam padding but if you can't find one, it's fine.

One wow thanks! If I buy the holders for silver eagles will the fit all other 1 oz silver coins. Also would I be able to open the case after closing it?

 

If you are going to store different things(Eagles, 1 oz, etc.) I suggest these tubes. I really like them. You can also get them for less by buying in quantity.

You can't assume that silver rounds will be the same size. It would be best to measure them with calipers.

Provident metals sells airtites under coin supplies.

 

Diameter of a silver eagle is 40.6mm whereas the diameter of most 1oz silver bullion rounds is 39mm. Airtite makes both sizes, the ones made for silver eagles will be a little bit too big for generic silver rounds.

 

when you receive coins from provident metals are then in plastic wraps?

 

They usually come in plastic flips, unless you ordered a tube of 20.

 

I'll second the recommendation for JP's Corner.

There are two different options each for both Eagles and generic rounds. One that is designed to hold the coin snugly without a foam spacer, and one that will hold it snugly with the foam spacer. An Eagle or a generic round in the properly sized holder will not rattle around in either type of holder.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both types of holders. The holders without a foam ring take up less space because the external diameter is smaller, but the coins are often difficult to remove from the holder. The holders with a ring do take up more space, but some people like the appearance, take confidence in having a little better protection for their coin, and they are easier to remove the coin without damaging it.

I mostly keep my bullion in tubes, but the few proofs that I have are in AirTites without the spacer because I don't have a lot of room in my safe deposit box, and because I don't plan on taking them out very often if at all.
