I am looking to pick up a one once US Army round as a Christmas gift. I have checked every online dealer I can think of and they are all out of stock. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks for the help.
not sure about rounds but there are plenty of silver military commemoratives on ebay... try here http://koinpro.tripod.com/BarsMedalsRounds/MilitaryPages.htm
here's another possibility http://www.silvertowne.com/c-430-military-and-service-silver-medallions.aspx
I guess I should have been more clear. I was looking for a one ounce silver round. My understanding is that if it is government issued, it is considered a coin, but if it is privately minted, it is considered a round. Rono - I really like those. Thanks a ton!
Something like this? They shouldn't be too hard to find...it's not specifically Army, but is armed forces....
Correct. A coin is a much higher definition than a round. Anyone can make a round or medal. A coin must bear a denomination, be issued by a recognized governmental agency, be legal tender, etc. As far as Army rounds OP, have you checked Silvertowne? They make a lot of specialty rounds, and if they don't have it maybe knows a firm that does.
Howdy all, Note that you can normally also get unit silver rounds. At least you can get coins for every unit known, but larger units often have silver versions. I can't get silver for 1st Recon but can get However, I found a 1stMarDiv coin on ebay for $45 in silver. peace, rono
