I myself am happy for the drop, it means I can buy more!! But I just started so I'm not looking at losses like other people.

Maybe they're selling selling silver to buy Bitcoins?

I went to my coin shop today and spot price was never mentioned and I bought 20+ coins. Spot price has nothing to do with reality when you consider the other object gold or silver is measured against, is manipulated by propping it up with zero's on a computor screen or with the worlds fastest printing press.

I use to follow the spot price but now I just buy as much as I can with my plastic bank-notes when-ever I can afford to do so. Of course, it helps to have an honest coin or bullion dealer.

Just because the price drops on the markets does not mean your local coin dealer should have to take a hit. All inventories this year cost the dealer somewhere between $20 and $25, add on a few bucks per coin to pay the bills and your up around $30.00 per coin. The bullion business is not one I would want to be in right now.

This definitely captures the silliest reasoning of the month award lol and is a fine example of what should be defined as an addiction gone wrong.
It never ceases to amaze me how even when the price of pm declines or stagnates for months on end, the addicts here use it as a rallying call to buy more.

I'm sure your post would be worded different if silver were $100 per oz.

Feel free to wait for your $5.00 or $10.00 silver, I'm buying now because I have the opportunity, you may never get yours.

My post would be worded different if pigs flew as well.

I don't need an opportunity in silver to thrive. Opportunities are abundant and I've enjoyed a nice 16% growth on the value of my equities this year

But by all means don't let your 40% annual loss on silver stop you from landing deeper in the pit. Buy more friend; I'll be there to pick up your slaughtered portfolio in the end

While you dance and bang your drum thinking you're right and this is the end of the bull market for PMs, many believe it's not. So instead of attacking other peoples ideas, maybe you should just move on. It's not that hard, and you posting that his idea is silly is pretty lame. I'm guessing he doesn't see things the way you do, I know for sure that I don't. So while you look at the 16% growth in equities now, that could all be gone tomorrow.

I've been dancing and banging my drums for the last few years; in other words quite a while now.

Of course I have to attack his silly ideas. I know for a fact I am not going to change his or your opinion. Because both of you are open minded anti banker idealists who have truly understood the large scale scam our financial institutions are pulling

The problem dear old peace is that his extremist views may be corrupting the minds if some of our readers; I like to establish a rational counter argument against that

I noticed you said "this year".

And how have your equities done since 2008?

You sound like a paid cheer-leader for wall-street.

So you and you alone have the only rational counter argument? Whatever you do, please don't dislocate your shoulder patting yourself on the back.

Somehow these discussions always turn into arguments about bankers and market manipulations and such...granted, there will be another thread in a week or so where the same argument springs up again.

So what if the price dropped today? Maybe it will spring back up tomorrow?

Buy low, sell high, and you should do OK.

I never mentioned I was the only one with a rational counter argument. I'm not to sure what that has to do with the matter in hand but given the nature and quality of your posts I'm not to surprised it's the best you can come up with.

No, you need to be smart and put your money in equities, then go to a bullion investing forum and tell those that state they bought PMs that they're stupid. You should probably tell them they make you sick for being anti-banker and continue on with the awesomeness of Wall Street and how anybody that buys PMs is a total moron. ( I think I got that all right)

And how have precious metals done prior to 2008?

You sound like a starved infomercial salesman who can't find enough idiots to buy his pm inventory

Peace is a really funny guy. His love affair with fallacies gives me quite the chuckle.

Apparently because I told someone ignoring spot price isn't wise when purchasing precious metals I'm anti pm.

I'm simply a rational person who likes things including pm in moderation. I get upset who the rabid frenzy of the pm or nothing idea I see here.

Oh and aren't you a bullion dealer yourself Peace?
If you are that's even more humorous :D

Might it be safe to say...that it's wisdom to invest in a diversified portfolio so that you don't loose your shirt when one thing tanks? Just sayin.

Also Fred, I"m just kind of curious...and I"m totally new here, but if you aren't into investing into PMs or here to kind of just tell everyone I told ya so...#1 what do you think people should invest in...and #2 why do ya hang out in forums in which people DO invest in PMs?

I"m personally happy, I"ll take this downswing because this is just part of my investment portfolio. And I like it =- )
