    Welcome to Cointalk HighFive,

More then likely the ones Goldmart is still selling for $1640 are rejects from the graders, or coins that didn't grade PF70. They can afford to sell them for a loss as they will likely double their money on any 70's they do get.

If you plan to send them in for grading, I would only buy from the mint or you will likely get coins which have been cherry picked~

    Good luck~

    Hi keemao,

When I received my coin it had some plastic shavings and at first they looked like imperfections along the rim but once you put it under the loupe or crack it out of the capsule it was perfect. Another thing I noticed was that the reflection off the cameo also makes it looked dinged along the rim but as you move it around under lighting you'll notice that it's only reflecting off the forehead, feathers and other points closest to the rim. Makes me wonder if the graders see those reflections as imperfections and grades them less than perfect.

Maybe so John but the mint gives a 5% discount on orders of $5000 or more so that means GoldMart can pocket $80+ on those 1640 prices. For sure it's a roll of the dice with them, no return policy.

I was at the show and sold one of my gold buffaloes to Goldmart or rather, representatives of Goldmart. I did not actually see anyone from Goldmart there, but rather buyers from other places reportedly representing Goldmart. I personally saw their "representatives" carrying away over 100 Buffaloes that second day of sales. I don't believe they were there the first day of sales as some of you may recall, the sales of these coins were a complete surprise and caught everyone off guard.

Goldmart was there the first day they brought four coins off of me and they were asking others in line how many coins they were going to get. If it was less then five they asked the person in line if they would buy the max which were five coins and they would buy the coins off of them. They also had two or three guys in line from Goldmart buying the max of five coins they had a wad of cash on them. If I only had known about the ANA label at the time I would had kept all five and had them graded myself and would had double my money for standing in line a short time as there were only about ten persons in front of me. But I did get my coin turned in to be graded at PSGS and I brought two 5 oz Hawaii ATB coins for $ 115 a piece from a dealer at the show so I made a little money.

If you were given a chance to buy one only...Between a raw UHR at current market price vs a gold reverse proof buffalo Which one would you buy?

I ordered last Monday and ship date is now 9/8. SO glad it isn't like the 2013 ASE West Point set (3.75 month wait)

from a pure aesthetic point and even with todays going price... I'd have to say the UHR.
That coin is spectacular! The RP as a strike is not one off for the USMint. Even though other countries have done UHRs, the 'double eagle' is by far the best I have seen

If you have not purchased yet... the bullion and regular proof versions.
If you have the above and are not selling in the future, cancel. If wanting to sell, one for the collection, the other for FRNs.
