I consider these guys highly reputable and trustworthy. However, you tend to pay for the better service. They could have good deals with their 24 hr. sales or if you buy in bulk. They include bullion products in their return policy. I have had to use this policy on multiple occasions... which is probably my only complaint. Overall, I plan to continue using them.
Bought an oz from them on EBay. I was very impressed with the nested packaging. There is no way a shipment of theirs is getting damaged in transit.
Excellent selection of products, shipping tends to be a little expensive and some of there product descriptions tend to be a little vague. What I mean by vague is that I bought a $180 coin from them only to receive it with no mint packaging !
Bought several items from APMEX. Great quality and fast shipping. The only thing I don't like is that if you buy from their normal website shipping is a minimum of $12.95. But if you buy through their Ebay store then it's only 4.95. Big difference!! The downside to Ebay is that they only offer the credit card price vs cash price. That doesn't matter to me since I always pay with a CC.

Never bought from them, I wanted too but there is a ton of Negatives on their Ebay page monthly...Makes me wonder
I never used their eBay store, however, have placed a bunch of orders via their website. So far, they always post my payments fast and ship either when they say they will or earlier. They let me opt for which shipper to use and they tend to pad their packages well and they have processed exchanges and a refund for me without issue. My beefs are the shipping costs for small orders (they now have a club which can reduce shipping costs) and sometimes receiving items that should've gone straight to their cull pile. They did accept return without issue though, but, I had to pay to return and insure it.
If there is something that I really want and no one else has it, I'll order from them. They have a higher premium than everyone else (from my comparisons). Shipping is super fast. Order with CC and it's shipped the next day and in 2 more days you have it in your hot little hands. They are not my GO TO dealer. I'll look at everyone else first. I am waiting for an 1878 Morgan Dollar - 8 TF XF-40 PCGS VAM-8 Stick Feather Hot-50 from them that I ordered on Saturday and they shipped it today. I think it cost less than $2.00 more to use a CC. The price is a tad high for the coin but I could not find it anywhere else. Due to the higher premiums and shipping costs I give them a 3. Their shipping is fast, but other dealers that I've ordered from are just as fast and have lower premiums and FREE SHIPPING. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk - now Free
I bought some Apmex bars from a guy outside of Apmex, so my rating is a 4 purely on the bars themselves and not the dealer since I have not bought directly from them yet. They are very nice looking bars, I get why they have a small premium now.
All round the best place to buy bullion on the internet. You certainly pay for the premium service though.
if you pay more how is that the best place to buy? I used them 5-6yrs ago when they weren't so greedy. I always find a better price elsewhere now. I don't get the obsession so many people have with fast shipping that they will pay more. odds are what ever your getting you plan on holding quite a while so how does a few days shipping matter. I give apmex a 2 up from 1 just based on their selection. no other plus I can see.
It's not necessarily a few days, in my experience it can be a few weeks difference between Apmex and some others. At best, the slower shippers simply have shoddy operations. At worst, they're making up for their lower prices by sitting on the float from cleared payments for a week or two before shipping out product.
I like Apmex's products, but do not care for their pricing, they are consistantly higher then everyone else and their shipping is made for bulk purchases. They make it not worth buying smaller orders.
I stated all round the best place to order. Price is only one factor. I also do not use apmex often anymore due to their pricing.
