When all is said and done Jaceravone in your honest opinion how does this Reverse proof buffalos look in hand? Are they Winners and could they hold their own VS. the UHRs?
They are gorgeous and I will buy one in a heart beat. Even if I sell my Buff collection, I will always keep that coin. It is stunning. Hard to say if they could hold their own vs. the UHR. The UHR design was definitely a winner, but these are two totally different coins in their own rights. The larger buff design really makes this coin stand out vs the UHR. The UHR is a unique coin and has not been duplicated by the US mint. Hard to say, but I own the UHR and will own the rev proof buff and I will love both children equally.
So this sounds like a definite Winner then to collectors and the public once the mint starts shipping them next month?
Thanks for the input jaceravone....For you guys planning to buy ...do not wait until Weds. because there Might be another price increase of another $50 like last weeks repricing. Better get yours now or before Wed. You can always cancel if you change your mind.
Thanks Joe! What a tale from the show that was! US Mint products have definitely entered the realm of Beanie Babies and Cabbage Patch Dolls...
HA! Chris, I can't believe you said that because that is exactly the items that were used to describe the craze around the rev proof buff coin! It was definitely crazy for sure. I hope to post some of my new purchases up on my web site tonight. I only focused on Walkers, Morgans and Early commems.
I don't think it's necessarily the mint products you can compare to Beanies and Patch kids. Now the slab labels however, there's your match. That's what all the frenzy was about, trying to be the first to get 'em in a slab.
I had 3 in hand, but only briefly. I would describe them as neat, but gaudy and very flashy. I thought about keeping one, but the notion of a quick $600 profit was too much. Lee Minshull bought ours. My wife waited 3-4 hours in line, while I roamed the bourse. I will order one for the collection.
I believe in you Joe. I bought 2 of these beauties earlier today. Well, I always loved the reverse proofs, and who doesn't love gold. You see, my safe deposit box is full. Full of gold, silver and cash. So, I made some room by removing a wad of cash and putting into my checking account to buy these gold beauties. Kapish? Actually, I just really do love reverse proof coins. I'm not sure what I'll do with my extra coin, but eventually I'll sell it. (like I've said about all my duplicate coins I meant to sell, and never have.) Maybe, I'll send them in to NGC and see what pops up.
Bruce if it doesn't increase but instead decrease...we can cancel our current order and re-purchase. But i too made a purchase before this coming Wednesday based on what others from other forum who are into precious metals charts and economic scenarios believe that this Wed we will see the mint increasing the price BUT they could be wrong which will be good for us because we have a "re-set" button in a manner of speaking. Let me ask you Bruce being an ANA member and a savvy PM stacker/investor...What do you think about these Reverse Proof Buffalo with ANA Labels. Will you personally shell out $3000+ just to get one with an ANA label on either a PCGS or NGC holder?
I'm going to order one that's graded as I just don't have the storage space anymore. I noticed on the Mint site the ship date keeps moving forward. Are they selling a fixed number of coins or are they selling all they can for a limited time?
There is no fixed number of coins but these are for sale for 4 weeks only from 8/8/13. So by the end of 4 weeks no more reverse proof buffalos .
I hear what you're saying. I've recently bought a buch of coins it turns out I'm not necessarily fond of because I thought their premiums would rise. I'm selling them soon after buying because I've fallen in love with Libertads. I will make less money collecting coins I love, but is sure is more fun!
