So the price goes up tomorrow (Wednesday) assuming gold doesn't crash in the next 24hrs? I'm already in for one but I can't decide if I want to get another one to flip.
Nice comparisons for you http://www.google.com/search?q=2013...AQ&biw=1024&bih=672#biv=i|3;d|bPlXTxQVnE-y7M:
Wow! How stunning the reverse proof is in hand. The us mint had 1000 on hand to sell at the ana show. I bought 5, flip four on the spot and kept my one. Very pleased. Pics will be posted later.
sons of bitches - well if that aint just a slap in the face I dunno what is. I may just cancel and buy a graded one, this is BS.
That really makes me mad - order within the first 5 minutes of being available and they can't ship it out for over a month, but you can bet your ass the big boy will get theirs shipped first if they haven't already been shipped to the graders. That's it for me - i'm done ordering from the mint. Just canceled the 2 reverse proofs I had on order, they can kiss my ass.
So here is the full story for those who were no there. During the opening ceramonies mr. petersen with the mint announced that a 1000 of these were on hand to be sold. I went nuts because i realized how big this was but little did i know a lot of people were going nuts....especially the big box coin dealers who learned it the same time we all did. So we putzed around for a few minutes and by the time we got in line it was already pretty big. The ordering limit was 5 per customer. As u were standing in line the big dealers were coming around making offers. This was instant cash in hand. I hadn't planned on buying five but the deals were too good to be true. So I got online and canceled my order with the mint and bought my 5. I sold 4 and kept one. My buddy did the same. Just as we decided to get back in line and buy some more they announced that they were all sold out. @ jjk78 i know u are ticked but it is really worth it and u won't regret getting one. Plus the price will likely go up tomorrow so u may want to get one now.
I don't begrudge you at all jaceravone......but the fact they were available, especially to big box dealers who were blatantly trying to hoard them to flip, is pretty freakin ridiculous. I really hope they go back to household order limits and limited mintages as I really have come to dislike the large flipping outfits.
I just got one before the price goes up tomorrow. Don't be upset at Joe, right place right time sometimes you get lucky I would have done the same. The mint was probably just trying to make some hype for it.
I agree....my frustration is directed toward the mint, mainly because this comes right on the heels of the '13 W Silver Eagle fiasco. It is very hard for me to believe that the big business part of this is not getting some type of cozy preference from the mint that is explained away in a new excuse with each new offering.
The Mint blows it again. After seeing these in hand I think I'll pass and buy a classic coin instead. OUCH......
it looks like it came with a basic COA. no mention of the 100th anniversary. I wonder if the mint plans on including the Reverse Buffalo in an Anniversary Set later on?
Certainly first let me say my frustration is all directed towards the mint, not you at all. Hell if I was at the show I would have done the same thing. I love collecting these things, but as much as I like it I am hoping for a decent return on my investment. I don't care if the price goes up $50 or $100 today, mine are cancelled and i'm with ChiefBullsit, i'd rather put the money towards a classic or lower premium bullion. Take more of the US Mints BS, I will not. Run by criminals just like the rest of the government~
That slabbed RP looks like a fairly obvious Photoshop job to me. I guess I'm not really seeing any reason to hyperventilate here. The mint stirred up some interest at ANA by selling 1000 coins to attendees, what's the big deal? It's just a coin, people. Frankly, if the mint is trying to discourage small time coin flippers from buying then I don't mind at all.
So, what was the cost at the show? Will be interesting to know what kind of discount they were selling for.
