If this turns out real I would buy as many of the 5400 your wallet can handle and sell them at 180 all day
Limit of 5, and I didn't ask for more. Let's just see how this one plays out. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.
Given that counterfeit PCGS, NGC are reported to exist, do you plan on having any of your slabbed coins assayed?
Nope, just going to have the dealer look at them. If he's good with them (he'll be buying 4 of them) then I'm good with it. I would suspect that there is a bigger chance that the smaller coins (10th oz. v.s. 1 oz.) are not counterfeit, but you never know.
I thought I saw this deal on another site like a month ago. Maybe kitco or bullion stacker forums? - Sent from my galaxy4 using Tapatalk
C'mon guys, lets be serious. Mike, if there is still time to stop payment do it. I just put a call in for you. Apmex will pay $100 over spot for the coins in PCGS MS70 plastic, all you can ship them. Call them yourself 1-800-375-9006. Apmex told me the 1/10 Panda's are in very short supply. There is absolutely no reason why someone would be leaving over 1/2 million dollars US on the table.
If you google "First Federal Coin complaints", there's a list of them with the BBB. Also, an earlier thread http://www.cointalk.com/threads/min...eck-for-anyone-buying-selling-bullion.233898/ talks about fraudulent coin and bullion "dealers" located in Minnesota. Beware.
First Federal would not be the problem, they are not the best IMHO but they are not total rip off artists either. The most likley scenario is the "deal" has nothing to do with First Federal. A quick call can easily confirm.....
Already too late, but I can and will cancel if need be. They'll be here in a couple of days, and I did buy via my credit card. I also have a dealer who I do business with that will look them over and buy them if they are legit. If not, well I'll cancel the payment, return the coins for a refund. If they don't refund, they can take it up with my CC company. And, we'll have this thread to look back on and laugh at how stupid I was.
I believe you. And if they are real, I'm not letting them go for $140 each. I'll get him up to $160 or $170, or I'll trade out for ASE's. I still need 6 to complete my collection, and I'll have a little cash left over.
Smart move paying by Credit Card, if a problem should come up just report it to your CC company. They like paypal will go right after them and get your money back. I don't think that there will be a problem though.
Well, they got here today. I'm happy to announce that each and every one of them is the real deal! So, I paid $670 for 5 of them. I went right to the coin shop, and I got three proof ASE's (90, 92, 93) and $510 cash for four of the Pandas. So in my mind, I got a Panda and three proof ASE's that were missing from my collection for $160. That's a pretty good deal I think. And, I'm really relieved that they turned out to be real. Just goes to show you that sometimes deals like this happen and you have to take the chance. I probably could've sold them for more, but I'm happy with the deal and my coin guy treats me right.
Glad it worked out for you. Can you post some pics of your prize? Still sounds highly unusual, but, paying by credit card gave you a safety net if you decided to return them (just get proof of return).
In 2010 I bought 10 gold panda 1/10th ounce coins, I heard the same thing. I just sold all 10 to the Gold Exchange for $135 each, I bought them from a guy in China get this for $77 each in 2010.
The ones that were advertized were First strike MS69 for 130.00 I bought 5 for that price and got MS70. First Fedreral is also govmint.com. I m not sure which site but they had the First Strike MS70' for sale for over $500. Could we be that lucky? Jim
