I am trying to make a choice between these items listed below for a purchase from Apmex on Ebay. They have some decent deals going on with some even including free shipping. So what I will do is post the ones to choose from and I would love to get some help on which one to buy. I am only buying 1 of the list so please just pick one.

Why do you bullion investors have such a hard time figuring out what you want to buy? Buy whatever you like.

I like to hear from people who have bought some of these premium rounds, this would be the first for me and its usually not that difficult just want a opinion.

Just curious but are you a bullion investor? I mean after all a forum is meant to have discussions about all sort of topics, what would you had prefered to talk about since you seem annoyed with the question?

If you are looking for the most silver for the money, get the Kookaburra. If you are looking for the coin that will best retain value, get the Dragon as it is the most popular of the Lunar series.

Personally, I would get the Dragon as I like the design and it represents my birth year.

Thanks, that was helpful, wish others on here got that. I did not know that the dragon was more popular.

I don't like Apmex as a rule but the 10oz Kook is a good price. they seem to bring a good premium at resale after a year or two. I'm with treehugger on the dragons-if you get a good price.

Quite honestly all 3 a pretty solid choices for keeping "value" in their premiums. Pretty much anything that comes out of the Perth Mint usually keeps their premiums intact from what I've seen since I started paying attention. If you were looking at plunking down $240 for the Kook, I'd say get both the dragon and the snake since combined as they're only a bit more. Me, I love the Lunar II dragon series (I already have multiple colors in 1/2 and 1oz) and that would be my personal choice here if only 1.

However, just be careful of the mintage limits they claim with each series (for example, only 5,000 1oz lunar II yellow dragons). They do have mintage limits per se, they have fine print that allows them to mint more of the same series under different meanings. For example, they minted 5,000 for the ANDA show, then they minted 5,000 more for special issue B, them 10,000 more for special reason C. Now, the total mintages is still low, like 30,000 total, but it's a far cry from what they claim that there were only 5,000, period.

buy generic rounds for the cheapest. buy american silver eagles for a bigger premium. buy canadian maple leafs with a high premium. buy what YOU like. I went the ASE and maple leaf route, but only got spot price when I went to sell them. I do not think I will go that route again. I do not like the high premiums. my personal favorite is the canadian maple leafs.

the good thing about ASe's and Canadian maple leafs are that they are recognized all around the world. Chinese panada's are beautiful but carry a very high premium.

I would get the Dragon & Snake at the same time (save shipping). Then I would go back and get the Kook.

I have that Kook and it's a pretty coin.... if you like shiny that is.

You guys are going to smack me around, I went and bought a Scottsdale Silver 5 OZ Prey bar for $120. You really can't go wrong with Scottsdale. I will wait until my big purchase to buy some of those nicer Premium items. Please don't abuse me :D

    My opinions on Apmex:

-High shipping (which they seem to be correcting with their new 'club')
-Prices are so-so you can get some great deals but you can also get better deals elsewhere; as with anything, do your homework
-My biggest issue w/them is I am fairly convinced they cherry pick their OGP coins so I will not buy collection-grade, ungraded pieces from them (i.e. proofs in OGP that I would like to grade in the future)
-Always had a positive experience w/their customer service
