You said you didn't get personal, wow you tried to say I am some nameless kid and you have made some other really BS statements that I do not even feel like quoting because this has become a waste of time. I am a 38 year old man who has served my country in the military, and protected know it all people like you so you could have the freedom to talk about these and any other topic you choose, so don't make statements when you have no clue. I have a business and I would fire any idiot that acts towards a customer in that manner. Customer service is a big deal and you call it coddling. This tells me alot of who you are as a person. Your inconsiderate, plain and simple, and last you say lighthearted, in who's book? You attack people who don't accept your statements as being right, you challenge their intelligence and their knowledge when you have no clue who they are as a person. Look in the mirror before you throw stones bud, you really need someone to tell you your a ass because I think you missed the memo.
Darn, and just when I run out of popcorn. Time to make some more... $2 a bucket! Get yer popcorn here!
He means that he no longer has an interest or wants to be a part of this thread, which is a very good idea. You are right and everyone throughout this thread who has disagreed or shown another point of view is nothing but a fool... everyone and every dealer should cater to your every wish and demand. Good night, Tim.
Time to be the bigger man I guess, it's not worth the argument to go back and forth on this, we obviously disagree so I am ending this argument now before it gets nastier then it already has.
I believe I gave SCFY a week off from another forum. Had the same MO, bring something up posed as a question, then argue every opinion that was posed. My guess is my amigo, mmissinglink found a new place that his MO will take a while to understand, and soon enough everyone will ignore him. Busted!!!! Sorry Charlie, starfish don't want tuna with good taste, they want tuna that tastes good.
I don't argue every point, I pose a question and debate the topic, just like you do at times, I guess someone does not get the purpose of a forum??? This is not about me, I made a statement and people on here tend to be a bit overly critical when you are not the norm on here, you may be right, time to move onto a forum where you can debate when someone disagrees with you. I guess I am supposed to just take whatever anyone says on here as gold and never question anything?
So what, he called your post nonsense, he called one of mine ridiculous once, big deal. For me, I always found his direct, no BS approach quite refreshing. There is something to be said for "telling it like it is". A thicker skin may just be in order here, and who knows, if you don't take things so personal, you might learn something. It works for me, you see, my post "was" ridiculous, it just took someone to point it out. YMMV.
Listen, I can appreciate when someone tells me like it is to some extent. If you look at how he comes at me, thats my issue with what he had to say. He did not agree with me and thats fine, but then he gets personal with who he thinks I am as a person, that is where I got miffed. He is not wrong about some things he says, but he is also very wrong about how someone should be treated when walking into someones business. Just my opinion.
Mike is giving you good advice. Especially on the bullion forum, you need to toughen up some. I miss Ruben, but he was one you REALLY had to get used to. He was from Brooklyn, so unless you had the same "in your face loudmouth, now what are you going to do?" attitude, he took it as a sign of weakness. Realize everyone communicates differently, get used to the personalities here, and don't get your panties in a bunch is my advice. Its the internet man.
I told you people that he's a troll, and he is doing the exact same thing here as he did at BS. His MO is to get you to respond with your opinion, then attack you, and when you attack back, he gets defensive and claims you're getting personal. My advise to all is to ignore him...he's just looking for attention.
Its not just a opinion I usually get back, and you speak of trolls, this forum really does suck, you win. I am out. To petty on here, there are some good people with good opinions, but I guess if you challenge someones opinion it makes you looking for attention, moving on.
I saw a little old lady get ripped off this past week at a coin store. She sold a bunch of generic walking liberty halves and was offered 10.50 for each dollar! The silver content in ONE COIN ALONE at the time was $7.50. She got ripped off. I had to stand there and take it because it would've been improper to have said something as I was there for a professional/business reason
Oh man, I missed all the fighting. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be back around because some people don't know when to stop. Fuh-gedda-boud-dit already.
Well it is stopping now! Next personal remark closes the thread and marches the offender to jail. Get back to the original topic ( 1st page). Thanks
As a dealer - it doesn't matter what you paid for your inventory yesterday. As long as you set a reasonable spread based on today's prices; that maximizes the number of transactions while at the same time keeping your inventory at a consistent level, you are going to make money no matter what the market is doing. It is kinda like being a bookie. Why do you think they call it the point spread? You get too much action on one side you move your spread or lay it off as a hedge. Is this back on topic?
Actually, that is the first thing in this thread that has made very good sense. If the dealer mentioned, was overstocked, then making a very low offer makes perfect sense, and it is more of a matter of controlling his inventory, than ripping people off, since most would decline his buy price. On the other hand, if he is overstocked, you may be able to get a very good selling price from him.
