Hey Kid => very cool new addition!! ... ummm sorry, but what year is it minted? vlaha => strap yourself in, Dude ... I'm sure that Windchild will catch you up to speed!! (if not, then there will be experts para-troopin' in to answer your questions!!) Oh, and "welcome", my new Zorro lookin' frined!!
Thanks This isn`t a common piece either... I can`t find out the date... I forgot to ask if anyone could read the date... This was minted by the third Sassanid ruler, and the information on when he ruled changes depending on the source. Also, welcome Vlaha, mon ami!
My monogram isn't a Z. But Hey, it's close enough. Also yes, People WILL fill me in....one way or another(insert maniacal chuckling).
Ha! Sassanid, the rulers of the large thin heads(That's one thing that even a noob like me can recognize).
Nice coin. Hormizd I was Shah of Persia in 272/3 AD. He ruled for one year. Youngest son of Shapur I. He inherited the defeated Kushan empire, where he took the title "Kushan-shah".
very nice new coin WC, glad to see you back getting new coins again! interesting to see one of the style that isn't silver, i assmue it's bronze (or bilon maybe even)?
It is nice to get a new coin... It's always a few months between purchases for me It is bronze. This type comes from the province of Baktria. A nice map. Plus a Zeno listing here: http://www.zeno.ru/showphoto.php?photo=48442
