http://www.kitco.com/charts/livesilver.html the second that Hong Kong market came on line silver plummeted
I'm saving up to buy 5-7 ounces next paycheck. I have a very good feeling the bubble has burst, and I can see it hitting $15 an ounce. Morgan dollars are now worth $14.54 each for silver content.
Well, I thought I was the biggest bear on the board, but it looks like I will need to turn my crown over to you In my opinion though, I really am not picking any number, since I really don't there will be any sort of sharp recovery. I've really never been good at picking bottoms (Who has), so after it looks like Silver has stabilized for a few months, at that point it may be a good idea to start some DCA. I just wouldn't want to be buying into this buzzsaw at any price. There will be another day though.
There is a real liquidity issue in China right now, so if this comes as a surprise to you, you're not paying attention.
As I've said ever since silver was $49/Oz...once it hits $18/Oz, begin adding to your position...not before. It may very well go lower...perhaps under $10 (who knows?), but I think the long-term "accumulation" point begins @$18/Oz. :thumb:
Time to be patient for buying, its obvious this could take a much steaper drop in the next few weeks. Save up your money since the dollar is going up. Buy in bulk once you see the declines become a little more stable.
Well, I sold all my silver on eBay back in early-mid December, when silver was in the $32 range. I'll start buying back at $16, but I have a feeling it will go considerably lower than that.
I sold the majority of mine between 45 and 49...most of which i accumulated between 12 and 20. I have been pretty lucky, but just buy low and sell high. It would be nice to predict the absolute bottom and buy huge, but I'm not really too concerned as long as I dollar cost average over the long term while its on the lower end of things. I have been buying a couple oz's here and a couple there for a few weeks now, and I'm not one bit upset that it is now a couple bucks lower...I'll just get some more!
I like shiny things, thus come payday I shall buy a tube of Eagles. Maybe a yellow one too. I am so glad that when silver started it's slide a month or two ago that premiums were through the roof. That kept me from buying - look where prices are now.
I've been buying since it hit $21, and I'll continue to buy as it goes lower provided there isn't a steep premium.
I wanted to buy but my dealer raised his premium when it went under $19. With tax included the premium was coming to $6+ per ASE. Can't buy with that premium. The good part is I can walk to him and don't waste money on gas but I have yet to find someone local that makes it worth while to drive to and buy.
