PeacePeople Wall St and stocks, where it's at

I'll lose this one...and will probably blame it on east coast bias....

I think I'm going to cancel some of the sets I planned to flip. Last night I saw some ugly completed listings on ebay for OGP sets -- $175 and change with free shipping. $335 or so for two sets with free shipping.

After fees and shipping that leaves $5 to $10 in profit. It is a lot of work for little money and there is the risk the buyer will deny receiving the package.

Maybe after people see them in person/on TV demand will increase, but I have my doubts...

Not so for the sale at $355. It must be signed for by the actual buyer along with the tracking number. That is part of the eBay Buyer's Protection policy. It's probably why the seller listed it that way. It protects both party's as proof of delivery.

At the $19.83 current silver price, the Mint is getting a 350% premium on these sets. That's too much for me to stomach...I'm canceling my order right now.

    Me too.

I didn't buy the set for its silver content alone, so I am really not too worried about the price of silver. But to cancel your order because silver dropped a couple of bucks?

Just for grins, I contacted Silver Towne to see if an order for certified 2013 West Point ASE sets could be canceled. The answer is yes, but only if you forfeit a 20% "restocking" fee, which is kinda strange (greedy), since they have not received anything from the Mint yet.

I'm done with modern Mint coins...

Silver is back over $20 an ounce. Sure you won't reconsider? :D

I guess the way I'm looking at it right now is...if you discount the last two and a half years, $20 silver is at a 33 year high. Another way to look at it is...even though $20 silver has fallen 59% from it's recent high, it is still higher than we've seen it in all but 2 out of the last for-ever years.

You were supposed to smile, not put up charts. :too-funny:

  14. No worries. I heard that they are sending out the milk-spotted ones in the first wave so your set will be a 70. :smile TC

That makes since, because they may have to send them out several times to get rid of them. lol
