I find it kind of funny that they wanted my payment within 24 hours, which I mailed out the next day.

They got my Money Order 5/24.

Taking out Sunday, it's been 5 days now.

Now here is where it gets weird.

When I ordered from them, they said money orders are treated "the same as cash".

Here is what it says on the order page:

    • NOTICE: Orders paid by check are held a minimum of 6 business days before processing. Cashier's Checks & Money Orders are treated the same as cash.

When I looked at the FAQ section, I found this little blurb...'

Personal Checks, Cashier's Checks & Money Order payments will be shipped once funds have cleared the bank, which is usually 6 business days, but may be as long as 12 business days.

So has anyone ordered them before, and if so, how long did it take?

The metals dealers are a little slow right now because of high demand. I don't think it has anything to do with the money order. It will probably be there in the next week or two.
    Hope this helps,

You also forgot that Monday was a holiday. They are a little slow, but I wouldn't be alarmed, it'll ship out soon enough and money orders are treated as cash.

So what's the rush? So long as they accept your payment form the package will soon be hitting your doorstep. Patience Tim. Patience.....:)

  6. I usually get my orders from them within 5-7 business days. They probably closed over the Memorial Day holiday. TC

Money orders are being treated as cash for prices. For handling times that is obviously not going to hold true. Isn't that kind of common sense?

    Yes, they are slow.

On my last order, between the time my payment cleared and my order was released for processing/shipping, it was another 8 business days until it was shipped.

Buying bullion from online dealers requires patience, especially right now when most of those dealers are very short on stock.

I'm only 37, but the younger generation (assuming he is young) wants everything instantaneously, like Google results.

Last month it took 22 days for some rounds. But their customer service was spot on when I called... They said it would be 18 more days from the time i called and it was.

Provident's a top notch operation. A little slow at times, but they always deliver. Besides, bullion is a rainy day, a few decades out sort of investment anyway.

Last 2 batches I ordered have taken about 10 business days to get to me.A bit slow but I'm sure their volume is high so no worries.

I ordered from them about a half dozen times, usually takes 2.5-3 weeks to arrive from the time I place an order and mail the money order the next day. When they say money orders are treated as cash they mean you get the cash price rather than the credit card price. As you posted it normally takes at 6 business days for a money order to clear this is to ensure someone doesn't send a forged money order or check, or put a stop payment on it as soon as they see the shipment is en route.

I've purchased from Provident before and I always send them a personal check the next day. I figure, it's going to take a while so I get my price set and wait for the email that tells me it's on it's way. Their PM products have always been quite as it should be. They have really nice stuff.

I just found the JH Mint about 10 miles from my house. Their website (JHMint.com) is easy to read and understand. I'll be visiting them in the near future. Their prices are competative and I would not spend on shipping.
