I've been known to take a chance with poor pictures, no pictures, bad descriptions on eBay. I figured there was enough of us out there to start a forum. Lets see the deals you got by taking a gamble on eBay!

    Heres my latest.

    Nice love token!
I have had so many amazing deals on ebay I couldn't possibly post them.
However the first big gamble that paid off was an auction for a album of Canada Large cents including 25 extra.
The images were terrible and really didn't show much. It also said "Doesn't contain any key dates"
I figured I could get a decent collection fo them for a reasonable price.
I ended up winning it for around $75.

When it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least.
The very first one was the first year (1858). Which is the key date and is at least 3x's more valuable than what I paid for the entire set.
In fact, it ended up that it was only missing about 9 coins.
Some real beauties were in there, and in the extra ones.

    A few examples:

The Wood grain looks awesome! Great deal for $75! I've also got a great deal on buying a Lincoln album. Upgraded a lot of coins and filled a few open spots! I love eBay! (As a buyer)

I have always found that buying complete or near complete albums can turn out to be a really good score.

you dont gamble you dont win. if you are not collecting on the edge you are taking up too much space. way to go.

  11. Id say the buyers were no smarter than the sellers were dumb about the product they were pushing.
GREAT BUYS BUT IT COULD BE THE OTHER WAY HAD THE SELLERS KNOWN MORE ABOUT WHAT WAS BEING SOLD.

Keep in mind some of the sellers are selling because of hard times (recently widowed) or in some cases they are stolen item and they need to dump it quick for $$$.

Okay, so I'm thinking the 1885 might be a double die? There's a lot of doubling... anyone know if there are known DDs for this date?

Most likely Longacre doubling... But it could be a doubled die.

I picked up a beautiful "1999-2012 mint proof sets"

description 1999-2012 mint proof sets". No pics, lots of feedback as a buyer, barely any as a seller...

83 dollars! All were complete, boxes were in great shape besides the 1999. I was sooo happy lol.
